Chapter 16 - Encountering the Scarlet Devil
Rayleigh's POV
Sigh....
I don't know if it's just me, but...
Why do I feel more stressed than usual?
"Sigh."
I fell face first onto the bed. I rolled around on the bed, thinking about a lot of things. My brain is already tired of finding a solution to the problems that keep piling up lately. Groupings will start tomorrow, the teacher will
tell us about the event so suddenly that everyone will be surprised.
The students are still not aware of the next event that will take place two weeks later. The school owner and principal told the teachers that no student should know yet because they plan to surprise them. Hurray, which is more stress and pressure for students.
I already knew what they were planning because I read the novel. Lucky for those students, they don't know anything yet. But me, I do and I'm really stressed about it. My main problem is those who will be my future groupmates, which are Jadon, Bridgette, Liam and Sky.
None of them have talent when it comes to music. But they could still play. In fact, you can call Jadon's group lucky because the judges were thrilled how they expressed their feelings towards the song, especially when Bridgette told them about her sick father before they started performing. They won first place and got 10,000,000 gold coins. Damn it.
For us commoners (I used to be a commoner when I was alive), having this amount of money is super enough. You can buy a bunch of stuff for that. Heck, if you have a good financial education, you can become very rich.
Since Jason's group won, that means 2,500,000 for each member!
If Rayleigh were included, if you divided it by five, it would only be 2,000,000 gold for each member.
Well, that amount is big enough for my age. If I get these 2 million gold coins, I would save them and find some ways to increase the value.
Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by a knock strong at the door.
"In between." I said with less energy.
A servant enters and greets me.
"Young master, the Greyhound family has been invited by the Lee family eldest son's birthday party." He informs me.
"I'm sure my family won't bring me. I don't need to prepare." I said in a flat tone.
"No, young master. It is necessary for the whole family to go." the servant says while showing me the invitation.
I looked at him in surprise, then remembered.
In the novel, Rayleigh and her family were invited to the party. Although he was allowed to go with his family, he was left out and treated as an outcast. The other guests didn't even bother to talk to him. Rayleigh was unable to enjoy the party that day.
But I'm Rayleigh now. And I think it's good news that I won't be able to interact with everyone. As long as I don't get on everyone's nerves, it's okay.
I sighed and looked at the butler. "I don't think I have a choice don't be go then." I said.
I send the butler and prepare for the party.

________
We finally arrive at the Lee family mansion and I can't help but feel in awe of their home. Seeing beautiful and big houses is really amazing for me. I never get tired of seeing one. For rich people, this seems like nothing to them. But I used to be poor in my previous world, so you can't blame me for surprising me a lot with mansions.
