At the banshee pens everyone was saddling up there ikran getting ready. "Do you think they'll let us take Duchess out today?". Asked spider standing next to Nick. Crossing his arms the wolf turned his head down to the boy. "Not unless we take a scorpion" Sighed Nick. Connecting his queue to Cupcake, Quaritch climbed onto the bird lowering her down, "Spider" . Walking over Spider grabbed onto the Colonel's hand pulling himself up on Cupcake. At the back of everybody there was a loud roar and a sudden thud on the ground. Leaning his head around Nick saw Ace laying on his face flicking his tail up. "Cujo you fuckwit!" He hissed. The ikran hissed in reply. Nick couldn't help but laugh as he walked over petting the ikran on his muzzle. "You gotta treat em as an equal dumbass" smiled Nick. Sitting up Ace wiped himself off taking a breath. "Fucken bird just doesn't like me".

"Hard to imagine why" Said Nick raising his brow at the recom. The sun rose over the buildings of bridgehead, as daylight came the ikrans yawned and stretched their wings. "Move out!" Ordered the Colonel flying into the air over the wall. "Get up and let's go bro" Said Nick climbing onto Cujo holding his queue stems. Ace shot up climbing on behind Nick attaching his queue quickly soaring off.

Flying into the forest it was a short distance to the place they needed to go. "Alright we're here, land and scout the area." Ordered Quaritch over the coms. Landing down first Fike and Prager held their guns up looking around, seeing the coast was clear everyone else landed adjusting there equipment. The area was surrounded by trails of orange flowers growing along the trees, taking interest Zdog walked over leaning down to smell them. "Shit.." she coughed, "feels like I'm smelling gas" backing up she rubbed her nose, "Furboy come over and smell this". Getting off the ikran Nick looked around rubbing his neck, "I can smell it from here, no thanks" he said uncomfortably. Ja went up to the tree examining it up and down. "We must be close to a souls tree" he said. "What makes you say that?" Asked Zdog. "I remember Diane telling us about these, their repulsive to most of the animals to stop em from going near the soul trees". "Nerd" muttered Zdog bumping Ja's shoulder. The flowers were a bright orange with streaks of black going from the petals into the roots, blue dots glowed from inside the flower making it look fascinating and toxic.

"That's exactly where we're going" Said quaritch putting his hands on his hips looking around. "The tree of souls site is nowhere near here?" Stated Nick peering around Ja to the colonel. "There's one close to here apparently" Replied Quaritch. "Still can't believe the general wants us to connect to plants like some tree huggers' ' hissed Lyle. Spider stood next to Quaritch crossing his arms rolling his eyes at their conversation, it was incredibly disrespectful to mock the soul trees or anything natural on Pandora, It was frowned upon by ewya. Leaving there ikrans the recoms walked along a trail following the orange flowers. Sticking close to Quaritch, spider kept himself fixated on the forest and its beauty. The wind had a cool breeze swaying the trees, wild banshees flew over squawking at them below. Walking in the middle of the group Ace looked at Nick keeping close to the Colonel, Quaritch had said something causing Nick to look up at him prickling his ears up. "...It's unfair how you look at him like that." The thought spun in Ace's head causing a headache. As his tail flicked a sudden tug made him turn around glaring his eyes. Mansk stood behind walking to Ace's side, "something up?" He quietly asked. "Ah nothin." Replied Ace. Mansk turned his head looking forward. "Why you always wearing those damn shades?" Asked Ace. Mansk pulled up his sunglasses, sighing he looked Ace in the eyes. "Better?". Putting his arm around Mansk pulling him in, "definitely" he smiled. Barging through with a cackling giggle Zdog ran past Ace and Mansk holding someone's cap. "Theft is a CRIME!!" Yelled Ja running after her. The laughter and screaming gave Nick a headache, any noise was slowly getting to him and he couldn't figure why. There was no unique scent he could pinpoint causing him any anger, in truth the wolf wasn't used to all the different smells of the forest. Rubbing his neck Nick gave out a sigh before stretching his shoulders.
