"And that's why I won't eat beetroot" said Alex.
Everyone was sitting and talking despite dinner being over. For the first time, The human officers from Quaritchs squad joined the recoms for dinner. Everyone got along telling each other stories, some of the humans were even familiar with the recoms. No one discussed it though. Nick and Alex were sat at a table alone from everyone, she preferred to talk with the wolf one on one. "How about you Mr Dasos?". Nick rubbed his neck, trying to remember which story the little human was going on about. "Uh.. chocolate?" He answered. Alex gasped leaning in closer, "you don't like chocolate?". "It's nice but I can't have it. Vomiting and heart failure you know" he smiled.''. "So it's like a dog's body?" She asked. The wolf's chest ticked after hearing that sentence. "A dog's body?..". He thought. "Shit I-I'm sorry Mr Dasos, I didn't mean to word it like that" she meant no harm truly, how could the wolf be pissed at that?. "It's alright, and you can call me Nick '' his tone was obviously filtered, trying to keep his composure. Since waking from cryo She was the only person to actually acknowledge him being an officer, Maybe a rogue one but an officer nonetheless. The colonel finally joined everyone inside the cafeteria, taking a seat next to Diane. Lyle sat on the other side making Diane unnoticeable in the middle. "Do you guys have separation anxiety?" Huffed Diane. "Very funny Doc" said Lyle, as he rolled his eyes. Quaritch ignored Diane, he was suddenly more focused on the wolf. "Who's the officer he's speaking to?" He asked, leaning over to Lyle. "Newly assigned to the squad far as I know" replied Lyle. As Quaritch briefly kept his eye on them, he took note of how they talked to each other. It was too hard to see the girl's face from her mask, but she fiddled with her hair, leaning in over the table. She was being very friendly. Too friendly. Quaritch scoffed, turning away, his tail began to flick, hitting Diane's back. "Colonel, your tail" she said quietly. Sighing, the colonel got up from his seat walking over to the wolf's table. He casually sat next to Nick, holding his arm out over his shoulder. Crossing his leg over, the colonel's tail swung up. "Colonel'' greeted Alex. "Officer?.."- "Alex Chacon, sir' ' she replied. The colonel tilted his head, "would you be related to Trudy Chacon?" Quaritch asked. "She was my aunt" smiled Alex. Things suddenly clicked. "One of the officers went rogue back in the war fourteen years ago.. Trudy Chacon, a pilot working for Quaritch.. her gunship reportedly crashed, confirmed dead". After Nick woke from cryo Quaritch had let him read the files regarding the battle of the Hallelujah mountains. Perhaps that was the first sign he favoured the wolf.
Nick could feel the tension rising, because of the bond? He wasn't sure. But the wolf could feel Quaritch's jealousy. Taking a deep breath, Nick stood up excusing himself. "I'll come find you tomorrow before dinner Alex, have a good night". "Oh okay, you too" she smiled. "Gotta get outta here before Mile's says some out of pocket shit to her.." thought Nick as he left. Quaritch wasted no time getting up and following, as Nick knew he would. He didn't mind the colonel being so jealous, he found it cute. "A guy like that is so affected by a girl talking to me? Can't say it doesn't seem like em.." Nick laughed at his own thoughts. It was late in bridgehead, the amount of officer's patrolling quickly decreased. Nick didn't have to worry about the guards watching him. The sound of footsteps were close behind the wolf, he hid behind the next corner. The footsteps became closer and closer, until eventually Quaritch appeared. Nick grabbed the colonel by his collar with both hands pulling himself close, putting him at the wall. Quaritch huffed from his nose, not resisting what so ever. "The hells your problem huh?" Asked the wolf tilting his head, his tone was more concerned rather then mad. "You didn't see the way she looked at you?" Quaritch murmured. "Like I'm not a freak?" Replied Nick. Quaritch scoffed turning away, he looked like an annoyed child about to be scolded. The wolf looked at the colonels ears as they laid flat. The more he looked at them the more cute they seemed. "So big and tough, yet those ears..". Nick began chuckling to himself, stepping back as he turned away. Quaritch had the feeling he was laughing at him, but why? He thought Nick was mad. "What?" Asked Quaritch confused. "Those little ears.." wheezed Nick. "I've never noticed how small they are". As Nick kept laughing the colonel put his hand on his hip, he gave a face that seemed to say ' really?'. "So childish" thought Quaritch. "My bad Colonel, my bad." Tears swelled in the wolfs eyes. "It ain't that funny'' said Quaritch with a scowl. "Your right your right.." huffed Nick wiping his tears. "I thought you were mad anyway" said Quaritch, rolling his eyes. "Ohh that's right" replied Nick. "Don't fuck up my relationships with my friends" he threatened. Yet again Quaritch scoffed, shaking his head. Nick walked to the colonel pulling him in by his waist, leaning in and lightly kissing Quaritch's neck. "So jealous huh." muttered Nick. "Shut it" growled Quaritch. "What? It's cute how worked up you get" smirked the wolf. Grabbing the wolf's throat, Quaritch held up his face, he looked down at him with his narrowed yellow eyes. " not here" Quaritch huffed. Taking the wolf's hand, the colonel led them both into his room. Leaving the lights off they didn't bother taking off their clothes. Laying on the bed Quaritch moved Nick onto his lap. Cuddling and kissing, they both couldn't keep their hands off each other. Over lapping each other's tongues into a swirl, saliva dripped down Quaritch's mouth as the wolf desperately tried to devour him. Miles became Hansi. Moving his hand to the wolf's lower waist, gripping and squeezing the fur and skin, they both groaned out in pleasure. Just as Nick got more intense with his movements and wanting, Quaritch slowed down, his breath became muffled almost as if he was exhausted. "What's the matter?" Asked Nick pulling back. "Shh.." Quaritch huffed, pulling the wolf in for a snuggle he rolled onto his side. The colonel's strong arms wrapped around Nick, he was so warm and rough. Even though he couldn't move, Nick found it comforting. He was starting to realise that everything the colonel did became a new thing to fawn over. The way he talked, the hand over his hip.
