After that we said goodbye and I went back to my other work. Before I knew I was home watching a movie that I had already seen. I sent a message to Hugo 'crisis over?'
He didn't reply but maybe he was asleep seen the time difference. I sent a message to Iris asking her how she was. She responded by calling me "Hey, I am still processing but I'm okay. I asked him to meet me on Friday. Then I have time enough to prepare myself."
"Good, I'm happy to hear that."
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. I have something new to do for this week."
"Okay."
"I told Sophia about this on Bella's party, and she suggested something."
"Uh... huh."
"Well, they have at the hospital people that don't get that many visitors. They are lonely, and she thought that you could pick out a random person and go visited him or her."
"I thought that you needed to be related to visit?"
"Sophia explained that they have a volunteering program, you need to leave your details behind and then you can visit some rooms. Not every patient is on that list."
"Uh... okay, I can do that during my lunch break."
"That's what I thought too, so I already left your details behind, and you can start tomorrow."
"Great." I said.
"I can hear the sarcasm dripping off of it sis."
"Yeah sorry. Maybe it will be a pleasant experience."
"Indeed. I'm going to bed. Early study session planned."
"Okay, goodnight."
"Goodnight."

The next day I walked at lunchtime to the hospital. I signed in and they handed me a badge that read 'visitor volunteer' and they handed me a room number.
"No name?" I asked the nurse that helped me.
"No, this will get the conversation going. And if they aren't in the mood for a visitor, you leave, and we give you another room."
"Okay thanks."
"Don't be nervous, most people are happy to see someone."
I ended up in a room of a woman that had just given birth, she hadn't much family left, and her husband was deployed overseas. I talked with her for 30 minutes, and I left when the baby got hungry.
'That wasn't so bad.' I thought walking back to the elevator when a women held me back. "You are a 'visitor volunteer" she asked.
"Yes, although today is my first time." I told her.
