Iris was talking with Brandon and Dean, and she looked really good in her dress. An arm wrapped from behind me around my waist "sorry Rose. I didn't want her there." Lucas whispered in my ear.
I shrugged; he could have told her that.
Justin joined us "Looking good Rose" he said when he reached us.
"So do you. Where is Ivy?" I asked him.
"Running around somewhere."
"I would like you to meet the girls that helped me look like this."
He narrowed his eyes at me "are you trying to set me up? I don't do blind dates Rose."
I slapped his arm "it's not like that Justin. Follow me please."
He and Lucas followed me, I didn't walk too fast so that Lucas could follow us.
"Olive, Hazel, I want you to meet Justin. He's Lucas's brother and a freelance photographer."
They shook hands and I saw Hazel check him out, Justin noticed it too and snapped "I'm a single parent. I'm not interested." Hazel's eyes went big, and her mouth felt open.
Olive scoffed "really? My sister can't look at you and think 'damn he is a fine-looking man?' It's not because she appreciates a good-looking man that that she is interested in more. We women can appreciated a man without wanting to have sex with him."
Justin was speechless and lucky for him he was saved by Ivy "daddy! I fell in the pool." She yelled, dripping wet.
"What? How did you get out?" he squatted down, worry on his face.
She beamed at him "I saved myself daddy!"
"You did? Really, since when can you swim?"
She nodded "Uncle Lucas taught me."
"He did? That's really good Ivy, but what did I told you?"
"No running next to pool." she muttered.
"And what did you do?"
She kept quiet but said "sorry daddy."
He ruffled her hair "but I'm really proud that you saved yourself. Excuse me lady's, I have a little wet princess that needs a change of clothes." And he went inside with her.
"Where is her mother?" Olive asked.
"Not in the picture." Lucas said.
"Oh!" both of them said. Gail came over to introduced them to some friends of her and I took Lucas to a chair so that he could rest for a moment.
"Do you need something?" I asked him.
"No, I'm good."
"Okay, tell me when you need something. And rest because I want to dance with you later."
