"Something like that." Iris said and Dean just nodded.
"It was nice to meet you, but we need to go." I said while I pulled Iris with me. Chris and Lexie trailed behind us.
"What was that?" Lexie asked confused. I glanced at Iris and sadness washed over her face.
"Iris is in love with him." I muttered quietly.
"You are?" surprise washed over Lexie's face when she watched Iris.
"He is still watching us." I mumbled.
Chris walked next to Iris and place his arm around Iris her waist "let's go love." He winked at her while he kissed her cheek. Iris giggled at him. They walked away, while Lexie and I sneaked a glanced into Dean's direction. His head had dropped a bit and he looked broken.
"Do we need to go talk to him?" Lexie asked unsure. "He looks hurt" she remarked.
"I don't know if Iris would appreciate that I interfere with her love life." I told Lexie.
But in the end Dean decided for us when he came to us, just when we turned to leave.
"Rose, wait! Sorry. Can I talk to you for a moment?"
"Yeah" I turned to Lexie "Can you drop Iris off at my place?" She nodded and left.
"Thanks Rose."
"Don't thank me yet, let's move over there." Dean and I moved to a quieter corner.
"I'm sure that Iris told you about us?" I nodded so he continued "Since the day we talked for the first time, I haven't touched Layla, my girlfriend."
"That's not really..." I started.
"I know, but I want, no I need to tell it, and it is important. I never had the intention of cheating on Layla, but I feel something with your sister that I haven't felt with Layla for a long time. Or maybe never."
"Iris didn't tell me much." I sighed and took a seat.
He nodded and sat down across from me "I always noticed her in class, I liked her wit, her cleverness and yes her looks. But I kept my distance, I was too attracted to her. Mid-November I saw her in the library, and I couldn't stay away from her that day. 3 weeks later I stood for her door and kissed her for the first time, we celebrated her 21st anniversary together. Celebrating Christmas and New Year's Eve without her was painful. Late February she gave me her ultimatum. She was right, I needed time to think."

I haven't slept with Layla since .." he sighed "a long time, I couldn't, Iris was always on my mind. Truth was that Layla was in a relationship with one of her co-workers for over a year, he's married and once he found out that she was pregnant he dumped her."
