Friday evening, I finally had the courage to send a message to my brother and ask him if he was free to stop by. He responded almost instantly telling me that he would come the day after. I reached out to some friends that kept visiting me until I had pushed them all away a little too much. I slept really good Friday night. Finally, I was seeing that my life didn't end in February, the 'flower family' sure did me good. Speaking of flowers, I wondered what Rose was doing tonight, probably spending time with Hugo since he was back. I missed her company.
Saturday, I worked twice with Alex, once before noon and once later in the afternoon close to dinnertime. In-between my brother stopped by, and it was good to see him.
"Justin, hey I'm glad to see you."
"Me too. How are you?" He asked.
"I'm better. My mindset is better, not every day, but definitely better."
"I can tell, you seem in a better mood."
"I started last week with physio."
"Mom told me. That's good." He nodded and took a seat.
"Look Justin, I wanted to apologize for my behavior."
"Don't apologize to me Justin, it's Ivy that needs to hear it."
"I will, if she is not too afraid to see me."
"I talk to her, she is young, but she will understand. Besides you are her hero." He chuckled. "So, how come you suddenly... changed?"
"Do you remember Thorn?"
"Yes, of course. His daughter Mia is in the same class as Ivy."
I nodded "His little sister Rose tumbled in my room. The day mom needed to pick up Ivy, she passed Rose in the hallway and asked her to stay with me."
"How did that go?" he asked with a smirk.
"I made a bit fun of her name. I accused her boyfriend of cheating; I threatened her to not tell her brother."
"How did she react?" he asked with a smile.
"In the end she left but she told her brother."
"Good, you do need friends."
"Yeah, both of them keep coming back. I even threw my garbage at Thorn and smashed her laptop.
"And they come back?"
"Yeah." I stayed quiet for a moment "after smashing her laptop I felt guilty for the first time in months. Although she slapped me hard." I said quietly.
"You deserved that probably. The laptop you asked me to buy?"
I nodded "she was even more pissed about that. She refused to accept it unless she could take me out in a wheelchair."
