Today I could finally close the chapter called Hailey. She was found guilty for everything we charged her with, prison was waiting for her. Her dad was found guilty for several parts of it but had managed to put almost everything on his daughter.
Hailey's mom had talked to me 2 months ago, she had apologized to me for everything her family had done to me. She was ashamed that she never knew what was going on. She recently divorced from her husband and was trying to put her business back up. It was more a sentimental thing for her, she got it from her dad and didn't want to let it go bankrupt. She didn't want to let the people down. I sat with her around the table, and we worked together on it. It wasn't saved yet, but they were doing better. Tom got a new position and helped her as much as he could.
Tonight we went out with the family to celebrate our victory. I glanced around the table and missed Rose even more than ever. Brandon and Megan were still lovey-dovey. Even my parents could be like them. And today Justin brought Olive with him. When she and Ivy went to the bathroom, I asked him "I didn't knew you and her were a thing."
"We aren't. Ivy asked her to come with us. Not that I am complaining about that" he smirked.
"So, you do want to be with her?"
He bended closer to me "she is driving me crazy Luc. I'm trying here, being patient and all but she has put a wall up, it's so big I don't know if I will be able to break it through."
I wanted to say something, but Olive and Ivy were back. Olive frowned at Justin and placed her hand on his arm "everything okay Justin?" she asked softly.
He turned his head towards her and nodded "yeah. I'm alright."
I tuned them out and scanned the restaurant till my eyes saw a head of blue hair. Isn't that Victoria? I met her once, and I don't know many people with blue hair. They had just arrived, and she was accompanied by her parents I believe. She scanned the restaurant and noticed me watching her. She smiled and waved at me before she said something to the women.
Not long after that I noticed new people coming towards their table. My Rosie. She wore a green dress with short sleeves that came down to her knees. The skirt was plise-style and around her waist was a cute bow, she had put on black pumps. Her hair was loose on her back, and she smiled at the people. But what really got me was the man behind her, his hand on her lower back guiding her through the tables. Like she was his.
"Who is that?" I asked Megan who was looking at them too.
"Simon Moore."
They all greeted each other, and the girl said something to Rose what made her look at us. She smiled and said something to the others before she walked towards us followed by Simon Moore.
"Hey everybody. This is Simon Moore, CEO of the Phoenix publishing house." Everyone stood up to greet her and him.
I stood up slowly and Rose came towards me "Lucas, I heard you won. Congratulations." She smiled and kissed my cheek. "You weren't there today." I said.
