January 27, 2033 - Rose

I entered the restaurant and looked around to see if she already arrived. I caught a glimpse of her dark auburn hair and walked towards the back. "Olive, how are you?" I asked her when I reached the table. She stood up and wrapped her arms around me "better now." She pulled back "Thanks for coming, take a seat. I have already ordered. I don't know how much time you have during lunch."

"I explained Diana, I can stay as long as needed."

"I went to see his parents." She started.

"How did that go?"

"It was uh... at first they thought I was there for money."

"Really?" I rolled my eyes.

"I told them that I met someone. His mother started to cry but I kept on talking about Justin and Ivy, how much I wanted to be with them but that their son was holding me back. I told them that I needed closer and if they knew where he was. At that point his mother was a crying mess." Olive stopped talking when a waiter brought our lunch. We both took a bite before she continued.

"His dad stood up and told me that he would bring me to him."

"That's good."

"We walked through the whole house towards the last room. His dad opened the door, and I followed him in. He was lying in a hospital bed, deathly pale, skinny and on life support."

"What happened?"

"That's what I asked too. His dad told me that after I came to see them for the first time, they brought him to rehab. He came out one year later. He was clean of alcohol and drugs, but he was depressed. He finally saw what he had done to me, to our girl. 2 months later, when they were out, he tried to kill himself. They pulled him back but ever since he is like this."

"Why don't they shut the life support off?" I asked.

"When he tried to kill himself, he wrote a letter to his parents. He wrote everything down that he did to me, our daughter, and even other girls. His mom can't say goodbye, but she and his dad made a compromise. The day I would come for closer they would stop it."

"That's why she was crying so much. She knew that it was time to say goodbye."

"Yes. They asked me to stay. And that evening a doctor came over to stop the machine. 5 minutes later he was gone. The day after I helped them organize the funeral. And then his will was read..."

"He had a will?"

"He made it before he... He left everything to me."

"Oh wow."

"I refused it."

"I understand, money won't make up for what he did."

"That's what I said to them, but I talked a lot with his parents, and I did accept it, but I will be donating it to some charities. I have already found one for people who experienced abuse. And I will donate a part at DragonFLY to."

"And his parents?"

"They loved it. He was their only child and they asked me if I was willing to see them in the future. After reading everything he did to me, it really changed them over the years."

"Are you going to see them?"

"I didn't make any promises but maybe I will see them in the future. They lost their son and granddaughter too. And they gave me some pictures of Lara that he had kept." She pulled out a stack of pictures.
