We all were a bit tipsy, except for Olive that didn't like drinking that much. "Why don't you like drinking Olive?" Megan asked her.

Olive shrugged and looked away into the dark forest that surrounded us, the flames of our campfire danced on her face and her eyes glistened with tears.

"You don't have to talk about it Olive, if you don't want to." Lexie told her.

But Olive shook her head and said, "I need more wine for this."

A new bottle was opened, and Olive took a big swig of it "I was the head cheerleader in high school and dating the quarterback. King and Queen off prom and hopeless in love with him."

"Typical" Lexie snorted with a giggle while Megan gave her a little slap on the head.

"After I lost my mom, I was desperately looking for someone that loved me and he did, or that's what he told me. After graduation we got married, he got a scholarship, and I followed him. I started college with him but 6 months later I dropped out, I was pregnant. He promised me that he would take care of us. He would be drafted after college; he was sure of it. Money wouldn't be a problem. During that time, he started drinking more and more." She suppressed a sob and we all moved closer to her, wrapping her in a big hug.

"I didn't know what was going on until it was too late, I found his stash of steroids and other stuff when I was cleaning our place. When I confronted him that night when he came home drunk, he hit me for the first time. He hit me so hard that I felt on the ground lost consciousness and woke up in the morning still in the same spot."

"Why did you stay so long with him?" Megan asked.

She smiled "I was young and stupid, and I loved him. The next morning, he made me breakfast and told me how sorry he was. I forgave him, I could see how much he regretted it. But then I didn't know it was only the beginning." She sighed and looked in the flames "I was 4 or 5 months pregnant when he went on his spring break." She shook her head again. "I was so stupid." she muttered.

"What did he do?" Lexie asked.

"He cheated on me, a lot. But I let it go because he told me that he was sorry, that it didn't mean anything. He gave me the usual excuses, and I felt for it. Early August I gave birth to our daughter Lara, she came 6 weeks to soon, due to stress the doctors told me. For 6 months everything went well. He was caring and helped me out till I found a letter that he had been expelled from the team and had lost his scholarship. That's when it all went downhill, the drank, drugs and women. He started bringing women to our place, fucked them while he obliged me to watch. If I didn't watch, he would hurt Lara. After he was done with the women, he tossed them out and demanded that I took care of him. After the second time I started to prepare to leave. I hadn't any money of my own because apparently his parents paid for everything, he didn't want me to work. 3 years later during a fight he pulled Lara out my hands, but he was drunk, lost his balance and dropped from the stairs with her."
