Chapter 29

Abhishek (shout): Stop it, Siddharth. Stop this right here.

Reem flinched, crying badly, hiding her face in Abhishek's neck.

Avneet (dangerous tone but not shout): Ek or word nahin.

She took Reem in her arms. Abhishek tried to speak but her one glare was enough to shut him.

Avneet (angry but calm): I swear mujhse bura koi nahin hoga if phir se tum dono me se kisi ne bhi gussa dikhaya to. Andhe ho gaye dono apni ladai me. Dikh nahin raha bachi dar rahi hain. Kitna ro rahi hain. Siddharth tum ishi ke liye lad rahe ho but isko hi dara rahe ho. Aesa kaisa pyaar hain tumhara? Aese hi ladna hain to get lost right now. Abhi Reemi ke pass aa kar dikhao dono.

She angrily walked into Abhishek's room with Reem. Abhishek and Siddharth looked at each other with tears in their eyes. Vaishnavi saw them. She went behind Avneet.

Avneet was trying to calm Reem but Reem was crying so badly. It was difficult for Avneet to handle her. Just then Vaishnavi entered the room. Reem saw her.

Reem (looking at Vaishnavi, hiccuping): Maa...

Vaishnavi went near her.

Vaishnavi (requesting): May I?

Avneet nodded. Vaishnavi took Reem. Reem hid her face in her neck.

Vaishnavi (trying to calm Reem): Baby...

Reem was still crying and hiding her face.

Vaishnavi: Reemi ki mami aayi hain. Acha Reemi, mami ko bataya kal Reemi ne ice cream khayi thi.

Avneet (joining Vaishnavi): Reemi akele akele? Mami ko bhi ice cream khani thi.

She said with fake crying face. Reem looked at Vaishnavi.

Vaishnavi (wiping her tears): Reemi hum phir mami ke sath bhi chalege. Mami ko leke chale?

Reem nodded, still tears in her eyes. Avneet gave Vaishnavi a glass of water. Vaishnavi made Reem drink it.

Slowly she calmed down. Avneet smile.

Vaishnavi (tickling her, in a baby voice): Reemi timi...

Finally, Reem giggles. Vaishnavi stopped tickling her.

Reem (giggle): Maa...

Vaishnavi: Yes baby...

Avneet (with small smile): Bahut pyaari karti ho Reemi se?

Vaishnavi: Bahut nahin... Sirf Reemi se. Like she is the first person in my life whom I love. I have only her. So mera pura pyaar iske liye hi hain.

Avneet nodded but some questions she has in mind. Reem started playing with Vaishnavi's long hair while giggling and looking at Vaishnavi who was making faces to make Reem laugh. Avneet was silently looking at them.

Avneet's POV: Ek baar Siddharth ko shant kar ye dikhana jaruri hain. How comfortable Reem is with her. I agree he is deeply hurt about his sister's rights but vo past ko leke baithega to galat na ho jaye Reem ke sath

She sighed.

Avneet: What's your name?

Vaishnavi: Umm... Vaishnavi.

Avneet (forwarding her hand): I am Avneet.

Vaishnavi accepted her hand with nervous smile.

Meanwhile Siddharth and Abhishek.

Abhishek: Siddharth sun le ek baar baat. Bina baat jane react karna band kar.

Siddharth was silent. He closed his eyes.

Abhishek: Mom ne meri blackmail kar shaadi ke liye haan bhulvaya. Vaishnavi ko sell kiya gaya hain mujhse shaadi karne ke liye. Vaishnavi or mere bich vaisa kuch nahin hain. I don't know tujhe unhone kya bola hain. I can understand your pain but don't be rude with Vaishnavi, please. Vo bahut kuch already suffer kar chuki hain. Mat kar usko hurt please. Yes, she isn't trying to take Reem's place trust me.

Siddharth (calmly): Tune sab phir kyun chupaya mujhse? Bata sakta tha jab ye sab ho raha tha.

Abhishek (sighed): Tu apna gussa dekh. Tu yaha nahin tha or tab tujhe main ye sab batata to over stress se tu bimar ho jata.

Siddharth (looking down): Yaar main kya karu? Har baar Reem ke rights ke liye ladna padta tha. Ab phir se vahin sab repeat karege expected tha but tu dusri shaadi karega and Reemi ko orphanage chorna tere se expected nahin tha.

Abhishek: Hmm... Vo jo bhi hain tu mujhse lad. I am here for you but Vaishnavi ko in sab me drag mat kar. Usko kisi baat ki koi idea nahin thi.

Siddharth nodded not knowing what to say but his heart pinched seeing Abhishek concerned for his second wife.

Abhishek: Main Reem ko dekh kar aaya.

Siddharth: Main bhi chalta hoon.

They went into Abhishek's room. They saw Reem playing in Vaishnavi's arms and Avneet and Vaishnavi talking to each other, shaking hand.
