Chapter 46

Abhishek (rubbing Vaishnavi's back): Calm down. Don't worry I am here for you. Me and Reemi are always with you. Calm down. Shh!!!

Abhishek tried to calm her but Vaishnavi was not ready. She was crying badly. Abhishek let her cry for a few minutes. He was rubbing her back, mumbling soothing words to calm her.

After a few minutes, her sobs calmed. She too stopped crying. Abhishek wiped her tears and made her drink water.

Abhishek: You okay?

Vaishnavi (with guilt): I am so sorry.

Abhishek: Why you are saying sorry?

Vaishnavi (looking down): Because of me you had to break your knots with your mother. I am sorry.

Abhishek (sighed): You shouldn't be. It's not because of you. It's because of her only. So, please don't be...

Vaishnavi: But meri vajah se first-time itna embarrass hona pada tumhe and-

Abhishek (cuts her): I am not embarrassed because of you. Maa ki fault thi. She was all loving and caring for you because unko beta chaye tha tumse. Ab kuch negative mila she was against you. Bina baat ke har waqt she used to taunt Reem. Ab Reemi ko mujhse door karne par hain. She doesn't like Avneet because Avneet ko kisi ka sunna nahin pasand. Aese kya har girl ki life control karni hain unko. She is a girl. She should understand all this. Yaha vahin ease behave kar rahi hain. Tumhe kya lagta hain how that Mr Sinha came here. How did he get to know about your accident? Whatever he said who's words were behind? Does he care if I already have a daughter? Does this affect him if by any chance will treat you like a nanny?

Vaishnavi looked down not knowing what to reply but everything said by Abhishek was true.

Abhishek (sighed): Aaj tumhe chor deta to kal maa mujhe Reemi se bhi door kar deti. I want you both in my life. You are not at fault anywhere. I am with you.

He pulled her in a hug. She hugs him back. Both stayed in the same position for a few minutes.

Abhishek (breaking hug): Tum rest karo.

He laid her on the bed. She hissed in pain.

Abhishek (concerned): Dr ko bolau? You okay?

Vaishnavi: I am okay... Halka sa pain hain. Move hone ke vajah se.

Just then Nurse came in with Vaishnavi's breakfast.

Abhishek: Nurse can you please check her wounds?

Nurse: Sure... Please wait outside.

Abhishek nodded and went out of the room. He sat on a chair in wait.

With Siddharth and Avneet. They reached the hospital canteen. Avneet ordered baby food for Reem. Reem stopped crying by now. She was quiet. After collecting the order. They sat feeding her.

Avneet: Kya soch rahe ho Siddo? Are you feeling disguised because of Vaishnavi?

Siddharth (shooking his head): Abhishek already told me that Forster father of her sold her to Abhishek's father. So, somewhere it was not difficult for me to digest this fact. I am surely feeling pity for Vaishnavi. Like she has gone through a lot. Neither I am surprised by Mom and Aunty's behaviour.

Avneet: Then what you are thinking?

Siddharth: Remember, I told you when we met the first time with Vaishnavi at Abhishek's place. You and Abhishek had to leave for the office. I and Vaishnavi were along then and that fire incident.

Avneet (confused): Hmm... So?

Siddharth: I just realized. At that moment the fear which I saw in her eyes. She was scared of me. She was worried for her safety.

Avneet (holding his hand): Got it. Now as you understood everything. I guess you should also her to be comfortable around you. Support Abhishek and befriend Vaishnavi.

Siddharth nodded.

Siddharth (patting Reem's head): Chalo so jao baby...

Reem (pout): Maa...

Avneet: Chalo reemi ke maa pass chale.

They went towards the wardroom. They saw Abhishek waiting outside the room.

Avneet: Sab theek hain na?

Abhishek: Vaishnavi ko stitches me pain ho raha tha to I asked the nurse to check her once.

Avneet nodded. Just then the nurse came out.

Nurse: She is okay. Because of the stretch, her stitches were aching. Be careful.

Abhishek: Okay...

Avneet: Chalo reemi maa pass.

Siddharth: Jaan mujhe Abhishek se kuch kaam hain tum please jab tak Vaishnavi ke sath raho...

Abhishek: Uska breakfast leke aayi the Nurse.

Avneet: Don't worry main dekhti hoon.

Avneet and Reem went inside.

Avneet: Pain zyada ho raha hain?

Vaishnavi: Abhi to gel lagai nurse ne. So, yes for a few minutes.

Avneet (making Reem sit on the bed): Okay. Tab tak you have to lay down?

Vaishnavi nodded. Reem went and sat beside Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi moved a bit.

Vaishnavi: Breakfast kiya?

Reem nodded.

Vaishnavi: Come sleep.

Reem lay beside Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi caressed her hair with a free hand. In no time, Reem slept snoring softly. Vaishnavi smiled, peaking her forehead.
