Apologies

Mina sat on the couch watching the sun rise over the buildings. She was upset with herself, but also disappointed that Hallie was upset with her. She knew it wasn't the smartest move, but, she didn't regret it.

"Did you even sleep," Kirishima yawned and sat beside his wife.

"A few hours...insomnia's a pain," she looked at him, "Are you meeting with everyone today?"

He nodded, "Of course, we have to decide what to do next." He reached and pulled her to him, "Have you decided what you wanted to do?"

Mina rested against him and sighed. They weren't planning to have a child, they enjoyed being the Uncle and Aunt, and the freedoms that gave them. The decision was made when doctors told Mina children weren't likely for her, due to her previous injury. The one that pulled her from hero to support. Thus they had to have the discussion when the test pulled positive. Kiri was his usual supportive self, telling her he supported whatever decision she made. Mina had fought with herself, weighing the choice and consequences. "You know...I think we would make pretty awesome parents..."

Kirishima smirked, "Oh I know we would." He kissed her head, "We gonna give it a shot?"

"I think so."

Mika opened her eyes and slowly sat up. She didn't remember getting back to the bunker, or how she changed clothes. She did know she was alone, Hawks was god knows where doing god knew what.

She pulled out her phone and texted Hallie.
___________
"I wanted to apologize, for last night," Hawks looked at Bakugo. "I'm not really sure what happened."

"I know exactly what happened," the blonde smugly sat back in his office chair.

"Are you going to explain it or..." the winged hero crossed his arms.

"It happened to me when Hallie and Tobi were captive. That calm rage that almost makes you feel like a god."

He blinked, "Something like that..."

"You love her you bird brained idiot."

"It's not like that."

Bakugo scoffed, "It's pretty obvious what it is."

"Then you tell me."

He leaned forward, "Hawks, have you every actually cared about a girl you've been with?"

He shrugged, "I mean, yeah."

"Enough to move that quick without thinking twice?"

He narrowed his golden eyes, "I'm a professional hero-"

"That's not what I'm talking about," he rolled his eyes, "You know what I mean. You were ready to kill him if he made a wrong move."

Hawks changed the subject, "I'm too close in this aren't I?"

"Probably, but, it doesn't change that we have a job to do. You just gotta handle yourself and understand when you get involved with someone in our line of work, things happen."

"You never said if it was a boy or girl by the way," he smirked.

Bakugo almost fought the subject change, but, he knew his point was made, "Girl."

He chuckled, "Ugh I feel sorry for any future suitors."

"It's not me they have to worry about. Tobi is already attached and she's not even here yet."

He stood, "Hopefully she looks like Hallie."

Before he could bark back, Hallie stuck her head into the room, "Did you guys kiss and make up yet?"

Hawks winked, "Yeah, it took some coaxing though."

"What'd the doctors say," his red eyes looked her over.

"The same thing as last time. Everything is good," she smiled, "Oh, Mika requested a private chat with you, Izuku, and Shoto."

Hawks furrowed his brow, "Did she say why?"

The red head sighed, "No, but, I told her I'd have Katsuki reach out."

The two men exchanged a look before Bakugo pulled out his phone, "Will you tell the nerd?"

"Yes," Hallie smiled, "Hawks, walk with me?"

Before he thought about it he moved. After all this time she still had that effect on him. Truth be told he hated it. Mika was the only other person who could accomplish this. Unlike Hallie, he didn't mind when Mika used it, whatever it even was.

"Listen to me," Hallie led him down the hallway, "you're going to have to make a choice soon."

"Oh? What am I choosing?"

"I think you already know," she paused and turned to face him, "She's not a hit it and quit it Hawks."

"I know she's not," he frowned, "Do you have such small faith in me?"

"That's not it at all," she reached out a gently squeezed his arm, "I don't want you both to get hurt. You've done amazing in helping her understand what an actual hero is..." she smirked, "But she's helped you too."

He scoffed, "Helped me how?"

"By showing you love, Keigo," Hallie released her grasp on him and reached for Deku's door, "Something you've always deserved."

Tokoyami watched as Hawks worked on the report. If you didn't know him, you would think this was a normal occurrence. But the young hero knew better. How? Because since his days at UA, he had always handled paperwork for Hawks.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

His golden eyes glanced up, "No." He continued his work before pausing, "What are you goals in life?"

"Well, to continue hero work of course. Maybe settle down eventually, a kid or two...why?"

Hawks had stopped working and rested his chin in his hand, "So you want a family?"

Tokoyami shrugged, "The woman I've been seeing and I have spoken about it-"

"You have a girlfriend and I didn't know?!"

He chuckled, "Well, we really don't talk about those sorts of things since the stripper..."

"Oh yeah," Hawks grinned slyly, "I forgot about that. What's she like?"

"She's kind, soft spoken. Almost too kind," he thought for a moment, "She has blonde hair and hazel eyes, a year younger than me."

"What does she do?"

"She's a nurse," he smiled, "a different kind of hero."

Hawks couldn't help but smile, "You know it's pretty cool, thinking back to when you were a kid, to the hero you are now."

"I have you to thank for that. You took the time to believe in me...to trust me."

"And I still do...which is why when I retire, this is yours if you want it."

Tokoyami blinked, "Where is this coming from?"

"I don't know," He looked back down at his work, continuing.

Tokoyami took this opportunity, "What do you want in life? Besides the usual speech you give out."

"Right now, I'm not sure." He sat back, "I never really planned my life like most people do. It gets overwhelming when I try to."

"That's fair," he stood and headed to the door, "I got schedules for the next two weeks knocked out, so I'm going to run."

"Be safe," he read through the paper quietly. Once he was alone he raked his hands through his hair, closing his eyes.
