Mika closed the door to her apartment and let out a long breath, locking the door. She brushed the thoughts of this morning from her mind as she turned on her shower. After she bathed, she dressed in a pair of black jeans, with a deep crimson, knitted sweater. She brushed her hair and decided to let it air dry as she cleaned up around her apartment.
_________
Hawks rubbed the bridge of his nose, listening to Tokoyami fill him in on a current situation. He was extra annoyed today. Having to leave....whatever that was this morning put him in a sour mood.

"Hawks," the fellow hero sighed, "are you listening?"

"Yeah, sorry," the blonde looked at the young hero, "I'm just tired."

"I know...I'm sorry. I hated bothering you, but this is something that you needed to be aware of."

"Well, we can't have another League on our hands," he stood, "So you did the right thing." He smiled and patted Tokoyami's shoulder, "Let's call on the rest of the Calvary."
__________
Bakugo, Deku, and Shoto all sat in Hawks' office. Tokoyami had stumbled upon some hearsay of a new league forming since the take down of the Commission.

"We need to bust heads now," the explosive blonde said from his seat, "if they start getting too ballsy it'll cause a lot of problems."

"While that's true we need more information," Shoto let out a long breath, "we need to know who and where."

"Not to mention the goal," Deku ran a hand through his hair.

Hawks smirked, "Leave that to me. I'll see what I can find, until then I'd suggest some caution."

"Thanks for the heads up," Deku stood, "if you need any help let us know."

Bakugo was already at the door, "Yeah, don't be stupid about it."

Hawks chuckled as they left before turning to look at Tokoyami, "I need you to run things for a bit while I'm gone."

He nodded, "Of course."

"I gotta make a stop before I fly," he grabbed his jacket and headed out the door.

Tokoyami sighed, "Be safe..."
____________
Mika had just finished folding her towels when she heard her balcony door open. She spun around and blinked, "You're lucky I didn't lock it."

Hawks grinned, "Because I wouldn't be able to get in."

"So what's the deal?"

"I have to disappear for a while," he casually walked in her apartment, "I came here to tell you to behave while I'm gone."

Mika scoffed with a smirk, "Me behave? You're the overgrown child." She sighed, "Where are you going?"

"Rumors are circulating of a new villain league. I gotta make sure that's all they are."

She slowly walked up to him, "Be careful, okay?"

His golden eyes looked down at her, amused, "What are you worried for my safety now?"

"Maybe a little bit. You and I both know how dangerous that game is."

He winked, "I'm good at it." He turned to go, "No killing."

Mika let out a breath, "No killing."

He spun back towards her, "I almost forgot," he quickly walked up to her and pulled their lips together in a soft kiss, "Just incase I die."

She blinked as he chuckled and shot off of her balcony into the sky. Her cheeks felt hot as she touched her lips. She wanted to be mad, but, he was so damn goofy, she couldn't. "Dammit Big Bird," she frowned, "be careful."
___________
Over the next week, Mika tried to occupy her time with small jobs, keeping to her no killing deal. The rest of her time was at the coffee shop with Rocky. He had offered her a job a couple of days a week helping him stock the shipments. It was a nice way to pass the time.

She had just returned to her apartment when the phone in her pocket buzzed. She eagerly checked it:

'Have you been good?'

'Nope, I refuse.' Mika smiled as she set the phone down, opening her laptop. It buzzed once more:

'Boo. Listen, if something happens I'm giving you a set of numbers to pass on to Tokoyami at my agency.'

Mika frowned. 'I don't like where this is going.'

'Me either. But, I like to have a plan for my plan.'

'Then send them my way.'

An uneasiness washed over her. Did he know something was coming? Her phone buzzed, her eyes studied the number as her brows furrowed. They made no sense.

'I'm sorry by the way.'

'For?'

'Stealing a kiss like that'

Mika couldn't help but roll her eyes, 'You're not sorry.'

'...you're right, I'm not.'

'You owe me when this is over.'

There was a pause before his response, 'I'll take you on an actual date.'

She set her phone down as she looked around her quiet apartment. A date? She had never been on a date before. Let alone with a well-known hero. Getting close to people like this wasn't safe, for her or them. Surly Hawks knew the risks in this, but of course, he wouldn't care.

She hit her lip and picked the phone back up before responding, 'Deal.'

There was no response after that. Her eyes looked over the random numbers her sent her, "Hawks what are you up to?"
____________
He chuckled as he slid the phone back into his pocket, "Well now I definitely can't die..." He eyed the bunker before letting out a long sigh. He didn't want to go inside, but, the rumors were beginning to hold some weight.

He jumped down from the tree he was perched in and casually made his way towards the bunker. This group seemed pretty smart, hiding in old war bunkers, far from the city. The ground was soaked with misty rain that had been falling for the last couple of days. His keen eyes zeroed in on the tiny trip wires across the ground. He knelt down and carefully looked them over, searching for the pattern up to the door. He smirked, "Simple enough..."
