Blood seeped from Lena's lips as she straddled a struggling Mika, the scissors she had used before were slowly closing in. "If I die," Lena panted, "you die..."

Mika was working overtime to make sure the other villains were down while concentrating on Lena. Her eyes were bloodshot from forcing her quirk past its limits. A loud boom sounded in the distance, making Mika smile, blood trickled from her lips, "The Calvary is here, you sick bitch."

Lena grit her teeth, putting all of her body weight into the invisible force fighting her, "After everything I gave you..."

"You tortured me for your own game..." she swallowed, her eyes brimming with tears, "and took advantage of me..."

I can't hold it anymore...dammit, Mika closed her eyes and took a deep, painful breath. I guess dying won't be so bad...

Lena's grunt caused her to open up her eyes in confusion. An array of red feathers were pierced through her body, blood began to spill down. Mika released her hold, letting Lena's body fall to the ground beside her. In an instant warm hands held her face, "Breathe."

Mika gasped and caught her breath, "You came."

Hawks was knelt down beside of her, "You called." He tapped the comm in his ear, "I got her."

He shed his jacket and scanned her over, "Listen to me, we gotta fly."

Mika swallowed and nodded, "I don't care, just take me home."

"I will," he grabbed the scissors and cut the shirt off of her, tieing it around her wound. His hand zipped up the neck of her suit. He gently leaned her up, putting his jacket on her, "Its going to be a bumpy ride."

She winced when he picked her up, heading towards the door. Bakugo landed in front of him and looked Mika over, "We'll check in."

Hawks nodded and took off in a fury she wasn't aware he had. The speed was almost god-like, like a jet as they sped into the stormy sky. She buried her face into his neck, keeping her eyes closed. Luckily his oversized jacket provided a barrier against the harsh weather.

Hawks' heart was racing. She had both lost a lot of blood, and drastically overused her quirk, he didn't have any time to waste. Luckily, Hallie had called ahead, so when he landed on the hospital roof, an emergency team was there to greet them.
________
Hallie talked with the doctors while Hawks sat quietly, his eyes on the floor. He was attempting to piece together what happened before he got the call. It was odd, and made him uneasy.

"Keigo," Hallie used his actual name to get his attention. His head snapped up as she sat down, "She's stable. They're putting her in a room." She looked her friend over, "Are you going to stay?"

His eyes met hers for a moment before he leaned back into the chair, "I haven't decided."

"We don't know how she will behave once she wakes up," the red head bit her lip, "They're running some tests to see why her hair changed so drastically."

"Can I tell you something," he glanced at her.

"Of course."

"Right before I got the call..." he frowned, "something odd happened."

Hallie tilted her head, "Odd how?"

"I got this strange sensation. I felt it all the way through my spine," his feathers ruffled slightly when he replayed the feeling, "that's never happened before."

"You know," Hallie reached into the bag that held Mika's uniform, "she had this," she held up the red feather, "it was inside of her hero suit."

Hawks blinked, putting things together. His hand reached out and grabbed it. His golden eyes looked it over, the feather was still in pristine condition, like the evening he gave it to her. Sure, it would help him zero on her location, but the effect it actually had on him made him uneasy. He swallowed, "I have to go."

"Okay," she gave his shoulder a squeeze, "I'll be here until Katsuki comes. Someone will be with her." He stood and made his way down the hall. Hallie sighed and rubbed her stomach, "Men are such a wreck sometimes."
____________
"Hallie," Bakugo sighed, "Let me stay. You go home."

"No," Hallie huffed, standing outside of her door, "I need to be the one to talk to her about this."

He rolled his eyes, "Why? It's not like we can do anything about it yet."

"I'm not going anywhere."

He leaned down, making himself eyes level, "I will carry your ass out of here myself."

It had been a few days since her return. The doctors wanted to keep her in a medical coma until they were sure she was stable. Today, they were weaning her off of the medication so she could wake up. Hawks had went MIA, but Hallie texted him information as it came through, even with no reply, she knew he was reading them.

"Then do it," she crossed her arms, "We can fight all day about this."

"You are infuriating," he scolded.

"And you're stuck with me," she narrowed her eyes, "So pick your battles wisely."

"For two people who aren't actually married, you sure do fight like it."

Bakugo's eye twitched, "I don't have time for you."

Hawks smirked, "Yeah it seems like you got your hands full..." he pushed past them and went to the door, "Please continue, I'll be in here."

Hallie smiled at him, "Good. She'll need someone she can trust."

Hawks winked and closed the door, letting out a long breath. The room was quiet and dim, only natural light. He softly sat on her bed and stroked her hair. It was definitely different, but, it suited her. "I'm sorry they did this to you..." he frowned, "I should've done more."

He shed his jacket, tossing it into the nearby chair. He pulled out the feather and placed it under her hand, setting up his experiment. He knew it would be a while before she woke up, so he had time to spare. Leaning into her ear, he whispered, "I know you can hear me, let me know when you wake up."

Reached for her chart, his golden eyes scanned over the information. Her blood contained an additional quirk now, meaning it would manifest at any time. They had kept him up to date on the investigation, and what was happening during her time there. There was only one casualty, one he caused.

He let out a harsh breath and sat the chart down. Truth be told he felt guilty. Mika had willingly went to hell for them, and this city. Hell, for Japan. He should have tried to find her sooner, instead he was drowning in self pity and fear. Pathetic, he thought to himself as he grabbed his jacket to get some air.

Red eyes met his when it opened, "Mr. Number One, what are you still doing here?"

"Making sure she's taken care of," he crossed his arms, "My agency was the one heading the case."

"Ah, of course," he moved past him, "I'm just need some air."

"I'm sure you do."

Hawks stopped in his tracks, "Don't start with me. I showed up."

"And you bailed," he turned to face the other man, "then ghosted."

"You took notes," he scoffed and turned around, "You don't understand anything, so I suggest you keep your bullheaded opinion to yourself."

"Then why don't you clarify," he eyed him, "because if you're going to keep playing around-"

Hawks was inches away in an instant, "Watch it."

"Or what?"

"You might be number one, but remember who stepped down," golden orbs bore into him, "Remember who comes every single time you call."

"Are you two done," Hallie's voice sounded, "because I'd like to go home, but if you two are going to have a dick measuring contest, I'm going in that room and taking a nap."

"Why don't we take a walk," Bakugo moved forward, Hawks quietly followed.

Hallie rolled her eyes and walked into the room, "Fucking annoying ass men."
