Bakugo had to admit, Mika impressed him. She moved well and deliberately, and stunned them, without killing. She did however, use a lot of blood.
When medic arrived they hooked her up and shot her to the hospital, pumping her with iron. She took a few small hits, but nothing remotely serious. She currently sat in a hospital bed hooked up. Her mind drifted back to Hawks. She hoped he was okay.
The sun began to rise, pushing away the frost that covered the city. Mika had to admit, it was a nice view. She hated hospitals, but, Bakugo didn't give her a choice.
Her eyes saw movement out in the hallway, making her head turn. Hallie looked over Bakugo carefully before he brought their lips together. It was evident how much they loved one another, she decided they made a nice couple. The calm to his storm.
Mika cut her eyes away when Hallie opened her door, stepping inside, "Mika, how are you feeling?"
"Tired, but I'm okay," She looked the woman over, "how is he?"
"He's in rough shape," Hallie sat down on the bed, "but the break on his wing was clean. Thanks to you setting it, it should heal properly."
Mika let out a breath of relief, "Good."
"You did amazing work," she smiled, "We appreciate your help."
Mika blushed and looked at her hands, "You're welcome."
Hallie couldn't help it, "You're so cute."
"I-" she cleared her throat.
Hallie laughed and stood, walking to the door, "Keep resting. I'll come check on you in a bit, okay?"
_____
Bakugo sighed, "How's your new project?"Hallie smirked, "Wonderful, like I knew she would be."
"I still think this is a bad idea," he looked over his wife.
She rolled her eyes, "Katsuki you think everything is a bad idea."
He smirked, "Don't start with me." He wrapped his arms around her, "You know you should be at home."
"And you know I'm right where I need to be," she kissed his cheek. "She and Hawks don't have the luxury of family. Someone has to be here."
He huffed, knowing he lost his argument, "Yeah whatever."
__________
Mika was thankful Hallie had brought her some clothing to change into. She pulled on the pants and buttoned them, putting the combat boots back on. The soft, green sweater felt nice against her skin. She walked out of the bathroom feeling refreshed, Hallie had also brought her a shower kit.She handed Hallie the neatly folded suit, "I made sure to clean my blood off of it."
Hallie chuckled, "Thank you." She nodded to the hall, "Four doors down."
Mika smiled softly and moved past the red headed woman down the hallway. She was released, but she wasn't going anywhere just yet. Was she utterly exhausted? Yes. Sore as hell? Also yes. But, she needed to make sure he was okay.
He was sleeping quietly, no longer covered on blood and grime. Mika softly sat on the bed, not wanting to disturb him. She softly ran a hand through his golden locs and down his cheek. His eyes slowly opened when she removed her hand, "Bring it back."
Mika smirked and repeated her action, "You are a lot of trouble."
He flashed a tired grin, "But I'm handsome."
She rolled her eyes, "You didn't have to go to these lengths to get out of our date you know." She teased.
Hawks chuckled, "I was nervous."
Mika laughed softly, "Surly not." She looked him over, "Are you okay?"
"I am now," he yawned, "Are you gonna babysit me?"
"Maybe."
"I'll make a ruckus," he half heartedly threatened.
"Go to sleep," she pet his head again, making his eyes close, "I'll be here when you wake up."
_____
Hallie peered through the glass on the door with the biggest grin. She was happy her friend had someone like this when he needed them the most."Stop being a creep," Bakugo's voice sounded in her ear. His hands settled on her stomach, "Come home with me."
She smiled, "Only because you asked nicely."
__________
Hawks woke just as the sun was set, his eyes scanned the ceiling. God he felt like utter garbage. His entire body felt heavy and tired. The full ache in his broken wing made him frown. He would be grounded for a while. Not just because of the break, he had used a great deal of his feathers fighting off his assailants. He heard slight movement to his left and cut his eyes to a sleeping Mika, resting her head on the bed. He looked over her bandaged hands, and the small cuts here and there. He softly moved dark strands from her face, resting his hand on her head. He was thankful Hallie had looked after her when they arrived. The last place a vigilante wants to be is somewhere they could potentially draw attention.
He needed to give Bakugo the information he had collected before it left his mind. He reached for the phone beside his bed but a hand stopped him.
"Let them sleep," Mika's sleepy voice sounded, her eyes still closed.
"What if I forget it," Hawks frowned.
She sat up and stretched, "You won't."
"What makes you say that," his eyes looked her over.
"Because," she gave the slightest smile, "I'll volunteer to go if you do."
A long breath left him, "I wouldn't allow it."
"I don't think you're in any position to make that statement," Mika was enjoying toying with him, "Hallie said I could use her suit anytime, I have her number actually-"
"Fine," he whined and laid back, pouting.
Mika smiled triumphantly and looked out of the window quietly. Hawks caught himself staring at her, again. She looked out at the lit up city as the nightlife kicked in. Sometimes she was envious of the citizens. They lived their little lives, with their families, getting their happily ever afters with their mundane jobs. They weren't constantly risking their lives to make sure tomorrow happens. She held a small amount of resentment because of that. However overrated heroes were, it didn't mean they weren't unappreciated.
Hawks tilted her head as he watched the emotions run through her eyes. She was sitting right here, but her thoughts were scattered everywhere. He reached out and tugged her sleeve, pulling her from whatever darkness she was heading towards, "Thank you, for putting up with them."
"They weren't that bad," she chuckled.
"I know how you feel about the whole hero thing, but they're good people." His eyes moved to the hallway, "I needed people I could trust."
"You trust me?"
"With my life," he smirked, "Now do me a favor and get under the bed."
