Mika smiled  as her head laid against the pillow, "Are you proud of yourself?"

Hawks grinned, "Yes. This way I can keep an eye on you."

A soft laugh left her at their current predicament. Hawks was determined to keep an eye on her. So, he made a wall of pillows in the middle of the bed. She admired his determination. His mind was made up on taking care of her, and he didn't care what ridiculous measures he had to take to do it.

He reached over and took her hand, pulling it to his side. He held it to his chest and took a deep breath, Mika smiled seeing him finally relax. Her voice was soft, "Go to sleep."

"Yes ma'am," he yawned, feeling calm enough to rest. Mika closed her eyes as well, feeling his heartbeat on her hand.

Mika woke when the sun hit her eyes, groggily sitting up only one thing was on her mind: a shower. Hawks was still sound asleep. His pillow barrier had held up. She smirked thinking how proud he would be.

The hot water hit her body, washing away the sickness that ailed her. Her shoulder was incredibly stiff and sore, but with medication and rest, it would be fine. Her mind wandered back to her battle yesterday. She had no idea who sent him, but, they were getting smart. Learning her quirk and what to use against it. This could prove to be bothersome...she sighed at the thought.

She dressed in a simple tshirt and sweatpants, keeping herself comfortable. The bathroom door opened to reveal golden eyes. She blinked, "Good-morning sunshine."

He looked her over briefly, "You disappeared."

"No, I showered." She corrected, crossing her arms, "What's got your feathers in a bind?"

He looked away and huffed, a faint blush settled on his cheeks, "I was just worried something had happened."

Mika reached up and pinched his cheek, "What a kind soul."

He winked and felt her head, "I think your fever is gone."

"Yeah, I think so. My shoulder is killing me though. I'm sure it'll pass," she moved past him, "Are you proud of yourself?"

He grinned, "Yes."

Mika had called Bakugo and updated him on her current condition. Of course she had to listen to him whine about keeping Hawks in line and how him swooping her up and not taking her to medical was dangerous. But, they were finally able to find out who sent the villain after her, and why. It seems they ironically created their biggest threat.

Hawks had kept himself a safe distance from her all afternoon. No physical contact allowed. Mika continued taking her medications and iced her shoulder. She was currently reading, Hawks napped on the couch near her. Her grey eyes landed on him, watching his chest rise and fall. She could tell he hasn't been sleeping again. His body was exhausted. Her eyes narrowed as she watched his face. Is he in pain?

Standing she walked over and softly placed the back on her hand on his cheek. He's so warm...it's not a fever is it?

Mika knelt down, studying him before softly speaking, "Keigo."

His golden eyes shot open and immediately landed on her, "Hm?"

"You looked like you were in pain. Are you okay?"

A tired smirk settled on his handsome face, "That's a trick question right now."

"I know," she sighed, "I was just worried is all." Her hand felt his face, "Are you sure you don't have a fever?"

His eyes closed, "I promise. You shouldn't do that."

"I'm not scared-"

In a flash she was against the far wall with a thud. Golden eyes looked harshly into hers, "Mikasa I'm serious."

"I am too," she kept her voice calm and soft. She could feel his erratic pulse through his palm that was around her throat. If she didn't know him so well, this would indeed be terrifying. His large wings were ruffled, the burning look in his eyes, he would be quite imposing.

She hand reached up and gently held his wrist, "Let go." He released her and clenched his jaw. She gave him a long look before her eyes settled on his, "Come here."

In an instant he was against her, her back flat against the wall. His lips devoured hers in a desperate kiss. Something about it made Mika melt like putty. She didn't have time to dwell on it though. His warm hands raked up her body and into her silver hair. She pulled their lips apart, putting her hand on his chest, "Easy, I'm not going anywhere..."

He took a long breath before he placed a kiss on her cheek, "I'm sorry."

"Don't be," she pet his hair, smiling when his golden eyes closed, "You have nothing to apologize for."

"You understand if this happens..." he looked at her, "You are stuck with me. Even if things don't work out...you'll never be rid of me."

"I know that. Keigo it's okay to let someone love you and care for you," her hands rested on his warm shoulders, "You have to let go sooner or later. If not, what's the point?"

"I'm working on it, I promise."

A knock came from the front door. His eyes shot over and narrowed. Mika moved away from him, "Let me handle it. You cool it for a sec." She opened the door to see Tokoyami and smiled, "Why hello."

The fellow hero cleared his throat, "Will you tell him it's just me...I'd rather not tussle today."

"It's fine," Hawks' rested his chin on her shoulder, looking over his protege.

"I promised I would come by and check on you," he held up a bag, "I also brought some goodies."

Mika smiled, "You are too sweet. I'm doing much better now."

He let out a breath of relief and handed her the bag, "Good..."

"Tell Bakugo I said to stop harassing you," she chuckled. "I'm not a child."

It was his turn to chuckle, "I'll relay the message." His eyes fell on Hawks, "Do you need anything?"

"Nah," Hawks flashed his signature grin, "I'll be by tomorrow to check in and take care of things."

Tokoyami almost questioned it, but refrained, nodding, "We have a lot to catch up on. I'll see you then."

Hawks watched him round the corner before pulling Mika back inside, locking the door.
