Her body hurt, aching from her fever. Hawks had been gone a while, she hoped he wasn't out causing trouble. Pulling the blankets close around her, she buried into the pillows and took a deep breath, closing her eyes.
______
Hawks landed on the roof of his agency to see a waiting Tokoyami. He paused for a moment before approaching him, "Thank you."

"Of course," Tokoyami handed him a bag, "There is a fever reducer, anti inflammatory, and an antibiotic, just incase."

"I owe you one," the blonde smirked, "Have they said anything about tin man?"

"He was a hired hand. They're still trying to figure out who," he crossed his arms, "Bakugo isn't happy."

"I'm not happy with him myself. I asked him to keep an eye on her...not let her patrol and fight when she's sick."

A familiar annoyed voice sounded behind him, "She made the dumb choice, not me."

Golden eyes narrowed, but he didn't turn around. Tokoyami blinked, "Can we help you?"

"I figured he'd show up sooner or later," the explosive blonde crossed his arms, "I just came to inquire about her injuries and make sure she's okay."

Hawks ground his teeth, keeping himself in check. Tokoyami was like a little brother to him. Bakugo, however, was a threat. Well, in his current state of mind he was. The younger hero could see his mentor struggling and moved around him, "She alright. Just a cold."

"I want to see for myself."

"That's not wise right now," he nodded his head slightly towards Hawks, "How about I go by later?"

He had forgotten about Hawks' current...predicament. He had only seen the winged hero for a split moment when he arrived, then when Mika went missing he assumed he got her out of the danger zone. Tokoyami gave him a warning look before he nodded, "That's fine...I just have to check in...agency stuff."

Hawks took off with one large burst, leaving the two behind. Tokoyami was earning favors once more. Had his eyes landed on the current number one, it would have been dangerous.
_________
A hand on her arm made her jolt awake. Hawks carefully felt her head, "Sorry it took me a minute."

A breath of relief left her, "It's okay." She could see he was still on edge, "Are you okay?"

"I will be," he held up the bag, "I brought you some medicine."

"It's not that nasty liquid is it?"

He chuckled, "Don't be a baby...no it's not."

She took the medication and leaned back against the headboard, "You didn't get into trouble did you?"

His golden eyes rolled, "Of course not." He playfully flicked her head, "Don't get sassy just because you're sick."

She smirked, pausing for a moment, "Thank you...I know this isn't ideal."

"It's not that it isn't ideal," he reached out and pet her silver strands, having a hard time keeping his hands to himself, "it's just not the safest."

Mika reached up and held his hand for a moment, "I beg to differ. I feel like I am currently in the safest spot in all of Japan."

"Damn right you are," he winked and got up, "Get some rest."

Mika sank down into his sheets and curled up, letting sleep take over.
_____
Hallie laughed and finished putting away the plates, "Katsuki, stop pestering them...you treat Mika like a little sister."

He huffed, "Yeah well, someone has to..."

"What has you so attached," the red head walked up to him smiling.

"I dunno. Heroes did her dirty, I guess I just feel like it's my job to make sure it doesn't happen again."

"For someone who acts so mean, you sure have a good heart."

He glared down at her, "Don't test me."

One of her perfect smiles fell on her face, "You don't intimidate me."

He leaned down and smirked, "I should."
________
Kirishima currently sat back against the hospital pillows, waiting on the next round of test results. Mina casually laid back across his legs on her phone, sending Hallie updates.

"I wanna go home."

Mina turned her head to look at him, "I know, but we have to make sure you're okay first." She gave him a smile, "Hang on a little longer okay?"

"Yeah," he sighed. His body wasn't used to not moving, making him stiff and uncomfortable. Mina did her best, rubbing his joints and aching muscles. He felt helpless, and annoyed at himself. He wanted to be taking care of her right now, not the other way around.

Mina sat up and placed a kiss on his lips, "Kiri, it's okay. Stop being so hard on yourself."

"I can't keep anything from you can I," he smirked and rubbed her arm, "I promise I'm gonna spoil the hell outta you when I get out of here."

She scoffed with a smile and rolled her eyes, "You taking it easy and getting better is all I want."
________
Hawks had taken a nice, long, cold shower and pulled on a pair of sweat pants, making his way out of his guest room, he needed to check on Mika....after some liquid courage. He popped open the beer and downed it without thinking. Something he was doing a lot of today.

He almost wished he had dropped her off at the hospital. But, would he had been able to hand her over? No, he knew that. It would have been dangerous and he didn't want to put someone in danger over his....issue.

Taking a breath of courage, he opened the door and walked into the darkened room. Mika was breathing softly, some of the color had returned to her face as well. He smirked and felt her cheek. She was still warm, but not as hot as earlier. Her eye fluttered open as he sat on the bed, "You feelin okay?"

"Yeah," she sniffled slightly and rolled to face him, "my body doesn't hurt anymore."

"Good," he grinned, "Your fever has gone down."

He leaned down over her, his golden eyes looked her over. She carefully rested her hand on his arm, "You're warm."

He scoffed, "My reasons and yours are not the same."

A soft chuckled left her, "Oh I'm sure."

"I ordered some food," he sat up, "you need to eat so you can take more medicine."

"Sure thing mother hen."

She giggled at his glare and puffed up wings. While this wasn't the ideal situation for them, at least they added humor to it.
