A few weeks had passed. Kirishima was still asleep, but he was getting stronger every day. Mina rarely left his side. Bakugo made sure their needs were met and checked in as often as he could. Denki also came a few times a week, giving Mina a break. Sero and a few others from their graduated class stopped by to bring words of encouragement.
The first week he was in ICU, Bakugo and Izuku closed the agency. They wanted everyone to have the opportunity to process and clear their heads. Aizawa, Hawks, and Mic picked up their usual patrol areas to help relieve some stress. Mika came into the field as well. They all wanted to do their part for their recovering friend.
Mika rolled her eyes, "You really think me dying my hair is going to make people think I'm dead?"
"Maybe," Hawks grinned.
"I'm not cutting it," she huffed as she knocked on Hallies door.
The winged hero chuckled, "You don't have to."
Hallie opened the door with a smile, "You won't look crazy, I promise."
"Be good," Hawks winked. Luckily he had patrol, so he didn't have to sit through her anger.
"Fuck off," Mika mumbled walking inside. Hallie and Hawks exchanged a grin before he took off.
Hallie shut the door, "What color do you want?"
The woman shrugged, "Something easy."
__________
Mina sat on the bed, gently wiping Kirishima's face, "You know...I can feel it kick and move around sometimes." She smiled, "I know how excited you would be." Her hand brushed his hair from his eyes, "Everyone is taking bets on the gender," she couldn't help but chuckle, "even Bakugo."She placed his motionless hand on the small bump of her stomach, "We need you to wake up, Kiri."
That's when she felt it. The slightest movement of his fingers against her. She smiled and kissed his cheek, "That's my guy."
________
"I'm still confused," Mika sat in the chair while Hallie colored her hair, "Why do I have to wear a disguise?""Because, they're obviously still after you. But, you need out in the field to gain control of your quirk," she chuckled, "So we reached a compromise."
"Hawks said he has to leave in a couple of days," Mika frowned.
"You could just...ask him to stay..." Hallie set the brush down, pulling up a chair.
"I thought about it," she swallowed, "But, I don't think that he would. It's a big commitment from what I gather."
"Mika, do you love him?"
Grey eyes moved to the red head, "Yes. But I know the risks in that."
"He loves you." She sat back and rubbed her round stomach, "He really cares for you. He wants to be by your side. I think if you ask him, it might surprise you."
"I feel like it's selfish," she turned her head as Tobi walked out of his room. He blushed and immediately turned around, making Mika grin.
Hallie rolled her eyes at her sons antics, "He's upset that you and Hawks are a thing."
"Ahhh, I see," she smiled and walked to his door knocking, "Tobi, can I come in?"
There was a pause before she heard a faint, "Yeah."
She opened the door, "I wanted to come and say hi."
He smiled slightly, his freckles stood out now that he was training outside more. He was so cute. "What are you doing to your hair?"
"I have to color it to hide for a while," she sat on his bed, "What are you reading?"
"A book about All Might. My dad got it for me," he sat up and showed it to her. "It talks about his time in America."
"Oh wow. All Might is pretty cool," she smiled.
Tobi grew quiet for a moment, "Is uncle Kiri gonna be okay?"
"Yes, I promise," Mika watched his blue eyes, "Kiri is incredibly strong. He has too much to live for."
"I just worry sometimes," Tobi decided to open up, "When dad goes out, what if he doesn't come home? Especially now that sissy is almost here..."
She felt her heart break slightly, but kept her composure, "Tobi, can I make a promise to you?" He nodded, "I will do everything in my power to make sure your dad comes home, everyday."
The blonde boy smiled, "I know you will." Mika ruffled his hair and stood, walking to the door. Tobi's smile turned into a grin, "If Uncle Hawks hurts your feelings...tell him I'll kick his ass."
Mika grinned and winked, "You'll be the first to know."
She turned and walked into the hallway to meet red eyes boring into her. He scoffed, "You look ridiculous."
"Oh fuck off," she moved around him.
"Thank you," he turned and looked at her, "For putting his mind at ease."
"It's what we're supposed to do," she looked at the open doorway, "but I intend to keep my promise."
Bakugo smirked slightly as she walked down the hallway. He leaned into his sons room, "What are you doing alone in your room with a girl?"
Tobi's face turned bright red, "Don't pick on me."
He chuckled, "Wanna go with me to see Kirishima?"
The boy shot off of the bed, "Yes!"
_________
Mina was leaned with her elbows on either side of her husband. They hadn't told anyone yet, wanting to soak in the peacefulness. It was hard for him to speak, but, he didn't need to. Just soft touches and quiet eyes. The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was her, he was grateful. The doctors had taken his vitals and given him a checkup to make sure he was doing okay. They also ran tests to check his organ and brain function. They had yet to hear back.
Mina looked at her buzzing phone and smiled, "Bakugo wants to come see you. Is that okay?" Kirishima nodded. "I'm not going to tell him you're awake. It'll be a nice surprise."
Mina was waiting for them outside of the wing, hoping her plan would work. Tobi ran up and gave her a tight hug, "Hey Mi."
"Hey buddy," she stroked his hair. She looked at Bakugo, "I'll let you have a few before Tobi goes in."
He nodded and looked at his son, "Behave."
Mina grinned when he walked through the double doors, "Tobi, wanna know a secret?"
________
He opened the door to the hospital room and felt the air leave his lungs. Red eyes met and in an instant Bakugo's arms wrapped around his best friend in a tight embrace. Kirishima closed his eyes and hugged him back. Mina had told him how hard the normally strong blonde had taken this. They stayed like this for a while before Bakugo finally let go. Kirishima's IV ridden hand ruffled the blondes hair playfully as he laid his head back.
Bakugo looked him over, "Are you okay?" The red head nodded and pointed to his throat. "It's fine...you should know, when they find out you won't have a minute of quiet." Kirishima smiled and winked. Bakugo smirked, "I knew this wouldn't take you out, but you did scare the hell outta me...and Denki..." Kirishima sighed and nodded. Bakugo watched his friends face, "You want me to tell him?"
___________
Mika blinked and looked in the mirror, "Well, it's definitely different."Hallies hand ran through the now silver strands, "It's pretty." She smiled, "I promise...it makes your eyes stand out."
The now silver haired woman blushed, "You think so?"
The red head chuckled, "Yes."
