Mika stood in the large arena, looking around at the tall buildings, "I haven't seen these in years."
Deku smiled as he stood alongside her, "Not much has changed." He stopped in a clear area and looked around, "This should be a good spot."
"Alright," she turned to face him, "Thank you for helping me with this. I know there's a lot going on right now. The sooner i grasp this, the sooner I'll be able to help."
"It's not a problem," he admired her drive, and willingness to want to help them. A very different woman than the vigilante they met months ago. "So, did you read over the notes I sent?"
She nodded, "Yes, I did. She uses kinetic energy with cards and her bow staff as a catalyst."
"Exactly," he grinned, "have you been able to manifest yours at all?"
"Nope," she sighed, "I can feel it's there, just in the background."
"We might have to get creative," he pondered for a moment, "it might be a fight or flight instance before it manifests fully."
"Then let's see what happens," she stretched her arms above her head, "Don't baby me."
______
Bakugo's red eyes looked over a fidgeting Hawks, "Stop touching my shit." He sighed, "Why are you here again?""Mika is training and I'm bored," he grinned and sat down, "I also might have some more information."
The blonde scoffed and sat in his office chair, "Then make yourself useful."
"My contact said that the other big holders in this new League are MIA."
"What do you mean MIA?"
"Their headquarters was cleared out as of two days ago," his golden eyes casually looked around the room, "They haven't popped back up yet, but I'm sure they will once they recover."
"Our current captive hasn't given us any more information," he watched the other hero tense slightly at the mention, "So I'm shipping his annoying ass off."
"Speaking of annoying," Hawks turned his head to the door right before it opened.
"Ah there you are," Kirishima poked his head in, "did you hear? Apparently Mika is giving Deku a run for his money."
Bakugo blinked, "What do you mean?"
"Denki is there for training exercises today and saw her tossing him like a rag doll."
Hawks smirked, "Good. It's nice to be humbled."
________
Mika slid to a stop, catching her breath, "Are you sure you're okay?"Deku panted and nodded, "It works differently, but it's still so similar." He paused before shooting towards her, hoping to catch her off guard.
Mika braced herself as the tingling feeling rushed through her body as he closed in. Red met green as their hands collided. He was able to push her back a few hundred feet before she gained her footing. Her muscles screamed from lack of use to now straining. Deku increased his pressure, seeing how hard he could push her.
Mika took a breath and concentrated on her legs. When she felt the familiar sensation she smiled and jumped up, tightening her grip. Using her momentum she flipped over him, using her arms to sling him through a nearby building...well buildings.
"Shit," Bakugo smirked, "I'm enjoying this more than I thought."
Denki leaned on the railing, "I figured you would. Our boy hasn't been tossed through a building in a while."
"What I don't understand," Hawks watched carefully, "Is it a dual quirk? Or, does she have an open wound that's boosting this?"
"Surprisingly that's a good question." Red eyes watched as Mika walked over to the caved in building shyly.
"Did I kill you," her grey eyes scanned the rubble.
"No," Deku climbed through a broken window, "not yet."
She sighed with a smile, "Perhaps we should call it. I don't wanna push this too much."
He chuckled and nodded, patting her shoulder, "You're right. It's amazing how your quirk responds." They started walking to the entrance, "It's like a self defense mechanism."
"It's kind of scary though," she looked him over, "One second I can control it, then the next my body just moves."
"That's what practice is for," Bakugo's voice came from above them, "Nerd obviously needs more of it."
Mika huffed, "He was holding back you needle brain."
Deku nervously scratched the back of his head when he saw Bakugo's eye twitch. The blonde glared, "Next time you're training with me."
She rolled her eyes as they continued through the gate, "What a jerk." Her hand ruffled Deku's hair, "I hope you don't pay him any mind."
Deku smirked and winked, "I've learned to be fluent in Katsuki Bakugo. Make sure you get some rest, you'll probably be sore."
"Thank you," she turned and headed down the hallway, "You still suck at sneaking up on me."
"Come on," Hawks whined, "Who said I was sneaking?"
"Your sad attempt to slow pace me," she turned at looked at him with a smirk, "Are you losing your touch, Hawks?"
He scoffed, "No, maybe you just spend too much time around me," he pouted, crossing his arms.
"Ah so I guess that means I'm sleeping alone tonight," she sighed with a smile, turning to head back down the hall.
A hand placed itself on the back of her neck, making her smile widen. Hawks leaned into her ear, "Not a chance."
_________
Deku sat in his friends office, ignoring his red glare, "So, I'm guessing you want me to fill you in?""Obviously," he looked him over, "she beat the hell outta you."
"I try to be selective now days with how much I use One for All," he gave Bakugo a knowing look.
"Are you holding up okay," his eyes still held their glare, but his tone had softened.
"I am," he smiled, "I'm just not going to overuse it. As for Mika," he thought for a moment, "Right now she's dangerous. While she does have some control, when she panics, her body goes into fight mode and the quirk moves on its own."
"Then she's out of field work for the foreseeable future," Bakugo thought for a moment, "Is it a dual quirk?"
"I think so," his green eyes squinted as he thought back, "we didn't use any of her blood, so I would assume she could use it at the same time if she needed to."
"Then we need to keep training her up," he stood and walked around his desk, ruffling Deku's green hair, "Get out of here."
Deku couldn't help but smile as he nodded, making his way out of the room.
