KYLE POV:

"Push these buttons when...." he sighed "When you ready" said the doctor, I didn't care for his name and nor did I remember it. He pointed over to a long machine that connected to Stan with a bunch of wires and IVs. The machine had whirling fans regulating his body temperature and a series of blinking lights. All I had to do was click the buttons and he would...

"I'll turn off the anesthetic now" the Doctor sighed. "I'm sorry for your loss" he muttered, not looking into my eyes. I wanted to scream after him HE'S NOT DEAD YET. But my energy was completely depleted and I sighed and the doctor unhooked an IV and walked out of the room, not looking back.

My back faced him and I turned, Stan's eyes were beginning to slid open. He looked tired. I leaned down and pressed out hands together, his skin was cool to the touch.

Stan looked confused and he arched his eyebrows looking all around him before his gaze landed on me and his eyebrows arched back down and he relaxed.

"What's going on Kyle?" Stan asked, trying to act like everything was fine. "Where am I?" he asked, he was beginning to panic. I rubbed the top of his hand with my thumb soothingly and he soon calmed down.

"You're on bypass" I answered, finally the dreaded words exited my mouth.

Stan's eyes widened and tears filled his eyes "Y-you mean.... you mean I'm dead?" he asked, he closed his mouth and I pressed my lips against his. "It's okay, It's okay" I regained my calmness but deep down, I knew everything was not alright. A tear rolled down my cheek and I buried my face in his chest.

I felt a hand run itself threw my hair, he was trying to calm down. He was the one dying and I was the one crying.

I slowly and carefully raised my head up from his chest and looked into his deep sea blue-green eyes. "People want to say goodbye" was all I said, and a tear rolled down both our cheeks.
