1 Year Later...

KYLE POV:

There we are, us four. When I say four, you think I must was messed up, but yes, it was four of us. After Stan died Craig turned away from his group of friends and joined us, so yes, going back to before, there were the four of us. One year later. One year after Stan's death.

Laughing, I leaned all my weight on my hands and pressed my body against Kenny's making him fly off the log we were sitting on. Cartman snickered and mocked and Craig just smirked a little.

Finally the laughing stopped and we all in unison stared at the crystal pond, the glittering sunset shone off of the pond giving it the look from a Vincent Van Gough painting. I smiled dropped, and my vision still staring at the pond I whispered "It's time"

Cartman nodded and stood up it was his turn first. Reaching into his backpack he carefully and delicately reached into one of the pockets and pulled out a carefully wrapped piece of red wrapping paper.

Cartman unwrapped it, inside was a deflated football. He took a couple minutes to straighten the deflated football, that looked kinda like a prune and stuffed the wrapping paper into his jacket pockets.

"For his talents" he finally spoke, breaking the eerie silence, and he leaned back his arm and chucked the deflated football as far as he could go into the pond, it landed and sent rippling circles out towards the pond.

He finally stuffed his hands into his pockets and sat back down on the log.

Kenny was next; he too stood up and waltzed over to the waters edge and unlike Cartman he sat down, the water lapping and splashing towards him, but he didn't care if he got a little wet, his clothes were already dirty.

Kenny unwrapped his wrapping paper, his wrapping paper was blue, one of the many colors of Stan. Which what they all intended for them to do. His wrapping paper held a dogs leash "For his heart" Kenny said, before he tossed that it the river.

It landed along side Cartman's deflated football, which was still in the process of sinking, but since it didn't have any in it, we were glad it was at least almost about to float.

Craig was third and he unwrapped his wrapping paper, it was black. Inside the wrapping paper, was weirdly enough a tall bottle of Jack Daniels. And instead of tossing that into the river, Craig popped open the glass jar and took a swig, before pouring all of it's contents into the river. "For his recovery"

"Some fish are getting drunk tonight" Kenny joked, but nobody was laughing.

Finally it was Kyle's turn, he unwrapped his wrapping paper, which was brown and inside the delicately wrapped paper was a blue and black guitar pick.

- Flashback -

"Guess what I got you for your birthday?" Stan smirked, and sat down with Kyle on his carpet, Kyle swallowed his mouth full of cake and pushed his paper plate aside.

Kyle groaned "Stan! I told you NOT to get anything for me" finally he surrendered and he giggled as Stan brought out his guitar and began to strum. "Just remember it took me forever to learn this song on guitar" He smiled and began playing and singing.

Love of mine, some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me,
"Son, fear is the heart of love."
So I never went back

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
'Cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Blinking, I stood in awe as the beauty of the song overwhelmed me. Leaned over I wrapped my arms around his neck and whispered in his ear "I love you Stan" he didn't answer but he kissed my neck and I giggled. "I love you too" he finally replied and kissed my lips.

Stan tossed his guitar pick at me "Here you go" he smiled "It's the pick I used to play this song, think of it as a symbol of love"

- End Of Flashback -

I sat back down on log and we stood in silence, just watching the lake grow still, no ripples and no sound. Just us and our nature.

I wrapped my arm around Craig's back and and all held each other. It was as if we all have the same idea, we lifted up out chins and stared up at the cloud speckled sunset colored sky and we all whispered our own little thing to Stan.

"I love you Stan" I grinned and then I whispered my last words

"I'll follow you into the dark"
