Y/n's backstory

[Y/N POV]

While waiting for the meeting Tali, Garrus and Ashely asked to talk with me. Having time I meet with them in the cargo bay

Ashley: LC thanks for agreeing to talk

Y/n: No problem *Sits down on the mako* So what did you need me for?

Tali: We were curious as to how you met the commanders. You all seem closer than by rank

Y/n: You'd be correct. You see even before we listed in the alliance we were childhood friends.

*this surprises them*

Ashley: Can you tell us how it happened?

Y/n: Sure I don't mind

*We see a kid Y/n with his mother Susan ( I've got no idea if his mom is even mentioned so I'm making it up ) being dropped to their new deployment*

Kid Y/n: So how long do you think we'll be staying here for? *I say while looking at my mother*

Susan: Well I think we'll be here for a couple of years. I'm sure you'll make friends here

Kid y/n: I hope so. I miss Kaiden

Susan: I know sweet heart

*We both get introduced to the crew but I hide behind my moms legs since I'm not okay with meeting new people*

Hannah Shepard: Ah Susan. Oh and little Y/n. Hi sweetheart

Kid Y/n: He-Hello ma'am

Hannah: You know I've got kids your age. Would you like to meet them? I'm sure you'd make a great friend *she asked sweetly

She's so... motherly. She's friendly... maybe her kids are too

Kid Y/n: Yes... p-please *I said still shy*

*We walk to the kids section and see kids that look way too much like her. I mean I know kids are supposed to look like their parents but that girl looks like a clone of her mom*

Hannah: Jane. John. There's some I'd like you to meet

*They both run up to us and looks at us*

Jane and John: How's this? *They asked tilting their heads*

Hannah: This is Susan alenko and her son Y/n alenko. I'm hoping little Y/n here can be a good friend for the two of you

Jane: Hi I'm Jane and this is my hard headed brother John

John: What do you mean hard headed?! *He asks glaring at her*

Jane: Sorry sorry... I meant thick headed *She smirks in his direction*

John: Why you little *He tackled her on the ground and they wrestle as I laugh quietly. They only stop when they hear me laugh louder*

Jane: Oh uh sorry Y/n.

Kid y/n: It's... it's okay. You guys seem like fun *I smile at them*

John: Then come on *He grabs my hand and pulls me away as his sister follows* We can show you around *He says excited*

Hannah: *Looking at susan* Seems like he fit right in

Susan: *Looking back at her* Seems that way *Smiles*

*Throughout the years we see kid Y/n play with John and Jane. When Y/n was nervous or either shepards were nervous, Y/n would make bubble sounds as a distraction. Earning himself the nickname "Bubbles" from Jane who he seemed to be closer to than John*

*Time skip 10 years*

I finally did it mom... I made to this alliance. I hope you're proud of me wherever you are

*I suddenly bump two buffed bodies*

Y/n: Oh sorry my bad

?: It's fine. We weren't- wait... Y/N?!

??: Bubbles?

*I look up and see Jane and John*

Y/n: HEY!! It's been ages. You both look amazing since you joined the N7 program

John: Yeah it's really pushing us to our limits. I'm glad we got to see you alenko.

Y/n: We I gotta head out. We should catch up soon. It's was nice seeing you two Looking well *We all wave and leave*

*Years down the line we see Y/n climb the ranks and eventually joining the commanders team under their request. The three of them became an unstoppable unit*

Ashley: Huh. That's kinda cuter than I expected. Thanks for sharing LC

Y/n: Don't mention it. I miss those times but I'm happy serving under their command *Smiles a very proud smile*

Tali: I appreciate you sharing. I too was curious about your history

*I nod and walk back to my room and look at our childhood photos*

I miss those cute smile we used to have... the alliance really can change pure smiles into something without meaning. We saw too much bloodshed to earn those adorable smiles again. At least I have these to remember
