[Y/n's POV]
Returning from the collector Vessel, Jane informs the crew of our next move. To claim a reaper IFF to enable a jump from the Omega relay. After that, Jane and I go up to her cabin.
Y/n: "How you holding up, Jane? After leading what's possibly coming if we fail" I ask her
Jane: "Scared, if I'm honest. This is worse than saren. Saren wanted the reapers, but seeing what they did to the prothean? I can't help but feel scared" she says quietly
Y/n: "Think we'll manage?" I ask her and she sits on her bed
Jane: "We have to. There's too much pressure to fail" she says still quietly
Y/n: "Well I'm not going to just take it and roll over and let it happen" I say determined and she looks up at me
Y/n: "First step: Stop the collectors. You know, I'm here for the end. Whether it costs me my life, I'm here to fight. After that, we'll find a way. We've stopped saren, we've scene impossible odds, we've managed. The commander I know would never lose" I say and hug her afterwards
Jane: "Thank you, Y/n. I'm glad you're always here to keep me centered and focused" she says smiling a bit
Y/n: "Anytime, Jane. Anything for you" I say and kiss her and we spend a while just kissing. No lust, just passion and love
After a long while of kissing which both calmed us and gave comfort, we talked about the "what ifs".
What do we do after the collectors are gone?: Shed go back to the alliance, I'd go back to Aria
What do we do after we the reapers are stopped? We both agreed we'd take a long shore leave. Maybe have a kid
What do we do after we retire? We'd marry, by a house in Canada, raise a few kids, die of old age together. We'd have plenty of stories to share with our kids
After a long talk, we were just emotionally exhausted. I go to leave so she can rest, but she denies me. She stripes down and orders me to strip too. She pulls me to bed and pulls the cover over us, as we cuddle. With one last kiss, we sleep. Having a shared dream of Jane on my lap while we're on the porch while we watch our kids running around and laughing. Loving the life we have
Meanwhile
[Vallah's POV]
After the mission with the collectors... I won't lie, it's scared me a bit. I know big brother went with big sis Jane so I won't bother them. So I'll go see my favourite convict. Going down the engineering's stairs, I see the same girl whos understood me. I see jack and she turns to me and smirks
Jack: "The turian princess is back" she says smirking
I said nothing but I nudged her and crawled next to her and hugged her. That gets her worried since I'm usually very chatty
Jack: "What's the matter, princess?" She asks worried but she hides it
Vallah: "The collector ship. That place was a nightmare. I saw things there that made me see horrors, jack" I say quietly
Jack: "What'd you see?" She asks rubbing my back since I'm snuggled up to her
Vallah: "I saw what happened to the protheans. They were Turned into those collectors. They're coming for earth. I don't want to see big brother and big sis Jane to go through what the protheans did. I don't want that to happen to you either" I say quietly trying not to cry. I go more into the proteans and the trauma from my own augmentation
Jack says nothing but hugs me tighter. After a solid few minutes she looks down at me
Jack: "I'm sure the jackass and his pretty little girlfriend can manage it. I haven't known him for long, thank god for that, but you know him. I'm sure they'll be able to stop them. If you trust him and he trust her then trust that they can stop them. Bastards are too thick headed for their own good" she says comforting me
Vallah: "You know, Jack, you're a lot sweeter than how big brother told me back in the prison" I say smiling softly at her
Jack: "Yeah, Yeah. Don't go telling anyone. I've got an image to hold" she says smirking
We both get lost in a stare and we don't realize our faces are slowly moving closer to each other it until our lips make contact. We both don't break the kiss, but we kissed more. Honestly, this felt amazing. It felt like pure comfort and bliss. We both break the kiss and we said nothing more but snuggled more into each other. We both had a smile and neither of us regretted it. After the collector vessel nightmare, I was emotionally exhausted. I soon fall asleep but I hear jack saying "Sleep well, Princess"
