I wake up in a cold sweat from the nightmare I had experienced. I dreamt of earth In ruin... houses destroyed, cities on fire, corpses burned and littered around. It felt like I was trapped alone in the galaxy... it felt so real. As I walked the streets of earth, hearing none existent screams, I had walked to the only house remaining and inside... I saw my husband and our child. I smiled about to embrace them until I hear the sound of a reaper as I watch them both engulf in a blaze and reduced to ash... that's where my nightmare had ended. Once I woke, I see my husband still sleeping... safe and sound. I cuddle into him desperately in need. He wakes up and yawns and sees me shaking and pulls me into his chest and brushes my hair
Y/n: "Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?" He asks me worried and I shake my head no and snuggle more into his broad chest as he keeps brushing my hair to calm my nerves and I couldn't be more thankful
Y/n: "Whatever you saw, it isn't real. You're here, I'm here and We're okay" he says softly and my shaking slows down as he kisses my head
Jane: "I'm sorry you had to see me like that" I say ashamed. Because that's not how I'm supposed to act... I'm supposed to stay strong
Y/n: "Never be sorry for that. I'm glad you weren't afraid to show me how you feel. You're my wife and if you had the need to hide and pretend... then I'd be an awful husband" he says with a small but sweet smile
I lean up and kiss him which he returns. It's not a kiss of lust but of passion. I couldn't ask for a better husband
Our moment is sadly ruined as the doors open to reveal liara
Jane: "Liara, can we help you?" I ask her covering myself up as she quickly everts her eyes
Liara: "I've been forwarding the Turian councillor information on the prothean device" she says stuttering and not looking at us
Liara: "It can't be build without council support, but he's not budging until their primarch is safe" she says no longer stuttering since were now clothed but still does not look at us
Jane: "I know" I say after a sigh and lean back into Y/n chest where he wraps his arms around me
Liara: "Are you all right?" She asks me seeing the look in my face
Jane: "I didn't get what you'd call a good night's rest" I say rubbing my face, looking emotionally exhausted as I see Y/n mouth "Nightmare" to Liara while he kisses my head
Liara: "There's more to it than that isn't there?" She asks me and I sigh
Jane: "When the Reapers hit... I could hear people screaming in the streets below me. We left a lot of them behind" I admit looking awful
Liara: "There's no way for you to save them all. But I know you're doing everything you can, and you'll get back there in time to help" She says convincingly and passionately
Jane: "I hope you're right" I mumble being held safely in my husbands arms
Liara: "Don't blame yourself, Commander" she reassured me
Our moment now gets interrupted by a new face
