With not only kirrahe safe but my brother too we morn the loss of Ashley William. We unfortunately can't morn for long since saren doesn't plan to give us time. So started our next plan of action
Kaiden: I... I can't believe Ash didn't make it. How could we just leave her down there?
John: Williams knew the risks going in. She gave her life to save the rest of us
Kaiden: But why me? Why not her?
Jane: That wasn't your call, kaiden. I had to choose. And I chose you. Don't blame yourself
Kaiden: But if I had done my job, you wouldn't have had to make that call
Y/n: Kaiden. You were pinned down with heavy loses. There's nothing more you could've done without getting killed. Don't think like that, you hear me? I... I almost lost you
Kaiden: Yeah, I guess you're both right. We'll get this done *He gives me a sideways hug*
Both Jane and John nods at us. John for understanding and Jane as thanks for stepping in
Liara: Commander? Excuse me for interrupting. But I have an idea. I think the beacon in Saren's base was similar to the one on eden prime. *She looks at me* Tell me. Your visions- have they at all? Do you know where the conduit is now?
Y/n: Not at all. It just messed me up more, if anything
Liara: That is unfortunate. I am afraid our only choice is to go to feros. Maybe we will find what we need there
Jane: I'll tell joker to plot a point. Dismissed.
We all leave the room as joker tells Jane that there's a call from the council. She could let them know about sovereign. I mouth to Jane "Meet me after" she nods and we all leave so she can take the call. After giving my brother the tightest hug of his damn life and close to breaking one of his ribs I retire to my room and wait for Jane. 10 minutes pass and she's at the Jane
Jane: You wanted to talk?
Y/n: Yeah. I just.... I just want to say thank you commander. You could've saved ash and let Kaiden stay behind but you went back for him. I... I can't say thank you enough
Jane: I had to make a tough call, Y/n. But I know I had to make the right one
Y/n: And you did *I walk up to her and place my forehead against her* Thank you, Jane.
I give her a kiss full of passion to show how much I appreciated what she did. We held on to each other even after breaking off from the kiss. It felt nice being like this. We have no idea what up ahead of us but... I'll cherish this moment for as long as I can
*Time skip*
We arrived on Feros and with Tali and wrex along for the ride we leave the ship to be greeted with one of the colonists Named David
David: We saw your ship. Fai Dan wants to speak with you immediately
Jane: Whos fai Dan?
David: He's our leader. He needs your help to prepare for the geth. They're making another push. Please. Pass the stairs pass the freighter
As he finishes his sentence he's sentenced to death by a geth rocket nailing him in the head. We quickly jump behind cover and take out the half dozen geth. We move on and climb the stairs and I spot some movement jumping from pillar to pillar
