[Jane's POV ]

Back on the Normandy, I've noticed Vallah behaving strangely. First, she's not talking to anyone. Second, she's often zoning out. I asked Y/n about it and he's told me this is normal when she think too much on her old family. Hoping to lend a shoulder to cry on, I go visit her in the armoury

Jane: "Vallah. I've been meaning to talk to you" I tell her as I approach her

Vallah: "I've been meaning to speak with you too. I need a favour, Commander" she says which catches me off guard a bit since she doesn't call me commander

Jane: "What do you need?" I ask her

Vallah: "Remember my childhood? The project? The facility?" She asks pacing a bit

Jane: "I remember. What about it?" I ask her

Vallah: "I want to go back to palaven. I need to see if I could find anything about what was the reason behind everything" she says determined

Jane: "What brought this on?" I ask her curious for the origin

Vallah: "Don't tell big brother this, but I suffer with constant nightmares. The kids in that facility, the scientist, my mate, my sister... my daughter. I see them dying over and over again. I want to let everyone rest... knowing it's all gone" she says trying to stay determined and not show emotions

Jane: "Then I'll have joker plot towards palaven" I tell her

Vallah: "Thank you for this, big sis Jane" she says softly

Not long after, we're taking a shuttle to palaven towards the research/Experiment site. I'm joined by Tali for this. Her hacking could give us an edge towards the security that may remain active

Jane: "What can we expect on the facility?" I ask her to give me an image

Vallah: "Painful memories, Bodies and blood. The facility was used to create an "Unbeatable" turian warrior. The base of this was something akin towards your human "Spartans" from your human archives" she answers me

Jane: "Do you think anyone else survived that facility?" I asked her

Vallah: "No, I know there isn't. The scientists made sure of it" she says sadly

We soon arrive to an abandoned... hospital? I look at Vallah she trying to put up a brave face. Before we open the door, Vallah adds something

Vallah: "When I opened that door, it was the first time I felt fresh air. I felt free... I both hated and loved it. Hated, because nobody else in that facility would feel it with me. Loved it because I was finally free" she says solemnly

I pat her shoulder and she gives me the nod to move inside. Once the door is open, we see burned or rotting turian bodies

The first batch of "Gifted" kids were brought in right on scedule. They looked malnourished and dehydrated. While conditions are not great, it doesn't matter. Among these children is also the Peoject leader's daughter. Vallah. Meaning "I swear to god" In the human's tongue. This one shows the most potential for project Phoenix. Let this be the first step towards an evolution of the Turian people. FOR PALAVEN!*
