[Y/n POV]

After passing out from my injuries I wake up on the familiar bed in the medical bay on the Normandy. My head's pounding and my chest feels like it got hit by a mako. Slowly blinking away the grogginess I see both Shepards and my brother Kaiden.

Y/n: Ugh... fuck my head hurts

Jane: Y/n! I'm glad you're awake *She says relieved while she holds my hand squeezing it a bit*

Y/n: Yeah I'm-im good. I feel like someone ran me over with the mako

John: I'm glad you're okay Y/n. It's my fault you were in this condition. I got careless

Y/n: It's fine it's fine. *I wave dismissively* I'm still alive and I'll be ready for next deployment.

Kaiden: *He hugs me* I'm glad you pulled through. *He whispers to me* The commanders never left your side. Commander jane never left your side and commander John blamed himself

*The doctor walks in with some more medigel*

Dr chakwas: Good to see you're awake. Reckless as always. Im starting to think you're enjoying your time in the med bay *She says teasing me*

Y/n: Well you ARE good company Doctor *I say joking*

Dr chakwas: Well all vitals seems normal. You should get some rest before you I clear you. Your body is still exhausted.

Y/n: Understood Doctor. *I turn to my team* Thanks for looking after me... again.

John: Of course. Rest easy LC *He along with the doctor and Kaiden both leave. Leaving me only with Jane*

Y/n: So how'd the missio- UMPH! *She hugs me a little too tight. Something she's never done*

Jane: Reckless. Always so reckless *She mumbles*

Y/n: And that will not change. I'd happy die for you both. I'd do the same for My brother as well.  *I say soft but seriously*

Y/n: Kaiden is my brother so of course we'd die for each other. John is my brother in arms. Someone who if I died in his service I'd say it was an honour I've fought with him until the end

Jane: What about me? *She pulls away from the hug and looks me in the eyes*

Y/n: You're... *I hesitate for a second* special to me Jane. Whenever anyone talks to you you give them the same treatment. Like a soldier to another. To me you're softer and that makes me feel something. You worry about me all the time and I do the same about you. So to me... you mean a lot.

Jane: *She sits on the side of my bed and put her hand on my cheek* I was worried you wouldn't wake up. Seeing you in that condition... It solidified something. *She says softly*

Y/n: And that is?

Jane: I can't imagine losing you. *She whispers in my ear* I love you Y/n *She kisses me and I instantly kiss back as we kiss for a minute or two* *She places her forehead to mind* I've been wanting that for too long

Y/n: So have I Jane... so have I

We stay like that for another minute just basking in the affection. Just let's go and smiles and gets off the bed and starts walking toward the door*

Jane: Rest y/n. I'll talk with John about the next destination. I'll give you a recap once you're fully rested.

Y/n: Roger that commander

She leaves and I lay back down and and go back to sleep while smiling knowing I got the girl I've always dreamed of having
