Side Mission: Tuchanka Bomb

[Y/n's PoV]

After my mission with finding the rachni nest, I joined Jane in the shuttle headed towards the bombsite. A quick recap to what happened on her end: The primarch's son led a mission and called an order that cost the unit many lives. The men wanted him executed for what he did. With persuasion, Jane was able to rally to men to aid their commander to finish the job. The job were currently headed to, to be exact.

Lieutenant Victus: "Normandy shuttle, this is lieutenant Victus With the ninth platoon. Do you copy?" He says through a small video chat

Jane: "We hear you, ninth platoon" she replies through the call

Lieutenant Victus: "We're approaching the bomb site, commander. Getting bounced around pretty bad" he informs her

Jane: "This is as close as we get, lieutenant. Look for somewhere to set your platoon down" she states to him which he replies he's understood her order

Jane: "Talk to me about this Cerberus bomb" she says to him

Lieutenant Victus: "It's not Cerberus, commander. It's... turian" he regretfully responds looking away from the screen

Jane: "What do you mean "Turian"" she orders to know

Lieutenant Victus: "It was planted centuries ago, after the krogan Rebellion. The bomb was another safeguard against another galactic war" he informs her

As awful as it is to admit it, it's a smart idea. For a species believing that unity isn't possible, a bomb as a safeguard would stop any chance of a revolution or revenge. The issue with a bomb is that it makes any possible treaty between the two almost impossible. It's a double edged sword In a way

Garrus: "Brutal, but it makes a certain kind of sense. Put the krogan down hard if they tried anything" he says adding his own thought

Y/n: "While underhanded, it was a safe bet. You won't get far in terms of making peace with them, but you'll save yourself another siege. Just pray it never detonates by accident" I comment in reply

Jane: "You won't earn trust with tactics like that. But right now, we focus on disarming that bomb" she says

Lieutenant Victus: "Yes, but Cerberus found it. Detonation means all out war between my people and the krogan" he replies to her

Jane: "Right. Where is it?" She asks him

Lieutenant Victus: "Those buildings ahead. Cerberus brought equipment to dig it up. The ninth platoon will cover your flank, commander" he replies

Jane: "Will all this activity, the krogan have to know something's up" she says to him

Lieutenant Victus: "Then we can't fail, commander" he says with a look of determination

Jane: "Copy that, lieutenant" she says and ends the video chat

We soon reach the drop point and drop out to move to cover. The area is being bombarded by explosives left and right with Cerberus agents joining the fray.

I make quick work of the enemy with the new gun that was recently provided by the mutant toad on our ship
