I woke up to sunlight on my face, a golden ray that was peaking through the blinds of a familiar room. I groaned softly from the irritation that the light was causing my resting state, making me move slightly which caused me to notice the arm wrapped firmly around my waists. Of course I instantly knew it was Simon's, just judging by the sheer size and the grip. "Simon.." i murmured beneath my breath as I began to try to toss and turn away from the light, eventually probably waking Simon. "What are you at y/n?" I heard him criticise in a whisper as he loosened his grip, allowing me to finally turn over and bury my face into his chest and shield my eyes from the light. His arms readjusted to my waist and held me tightly against his large silhouette, his warm breath brushing against my back softly. The morning was silent in his room, a gentle breeze presumably coming either from his window or his door since it was fresh and clean like spring air. As i layed there, enjoying the heat that was being radiated off of his chest, I remembered what Price had said before about the morning meeting or whatever thing he said he wanted to discuss. "What time is it?" I whispered quietly, tilting my head up towards his a whilst resting my chin against his chest. "We have plenty of time. Honest." He said back as his lips brushed against mine gently. I knew that anytime Simon used the word honest it wasn't true.
"bullshit..." I groaned as I kissed him back, my hand gently brushing through his dirty blond hair. His hands gently pulled me slightly upwards in the bed so our faces were almost level before he nuzzled his head against my neck and rested it there, he reminded me a lot of a cat. "We need to get up" i whispered softly but all I got in response was his hands wrapping around me tighter and a soft hum escaping his lips. I was just about to let him go back to sleep, using me as his personal pillow, but then I remembered all the times that he awoke me and didn't let me stay asleep. I carefully moved my hands to his chest before pushing myself away from him gently and slipping out from his grasp. I sat up on the bed next to him and watched as his eyes opened in small slits and gave me a irritated glare to express his annoyance.
"Go and report back" Simon said as he stretched and rolled over onto his back, he said it like it was an order but his tone was soft so I knew that that way of speaking was just natural to him now. I let out a sigh and ran my fingers over his forehead and then through his hair gently, placing a soft kiss on his forehead. "Yes sir" I whispered back, imitating the response that would properly be given back to his order. He gave me a small smirk back before I got off the bed and opened the curtains fully to let the sunlight it.
The golden sunlight lit up the room and slipped it beneath a soft warm blanket. I closed my eyes and bathed in the light for a few seconds before turning back to Simon. His eyes were closed and he was stretched out on the bed, basking in the sunlight like a black cat. "Your like a black cat" I commented in a hushed voice, a soft smile appearing on his face. "But at least I'm your black cat" he said back with a sleepy sigh, and that was when I decided that that name was quite fitting for him. I smiled and laughed slightly and walked over to his door before stopping. "Good bye my black cat" i hummed as I put on his slippers that were at least 4 sizes to big before opening the door and slipping out. Last night was a blur apart from the odd memories like the drinking, the kissing and then getting back to base in Simon's arms. I don't remember taking off the dress or heals but I now was wearing a pair of my shorts and one of Simon's basic white T-shirts as I walked through the base. I heard some chatter from the meeting room but knew that I'd need at least a cup of pure caffeine in my system before I could even begin to fathom going in there, so I went to the kitchen instead. The kitchen was completely empty, for once. I headed over to the coffee machine but stopping once I spotted a still warm espresso cup with a note covering the top of it. I leaned my arms against the counter and picked up the cup that I had only realised them from the fact that like half of the somehow scolding hot liquid spilt over the rim and directly onto my hand, that the note was also concealing the beverage. "Fuck" i hissed to myself as I quickly but carefully dropped the cup back down onto the posture, shaking out my hand to get any drops off it as i bit my lip whilst my brain rendered the pain.
"Y/n?" I heard Soap's voice sound out from behind me causing my head to shoot to where the sound came from. "Soapy?" I asked back with a small smirk, knowing that it probably pissed him off that I had just called him that, still clutching my hand im the area that had been burnt. He let out a sigh before walking over to me "what happened?" He asked with a questioning expression, standing in front of me as he took my wrist in his hand and began to inspect the burn. "Just- spilt some of this coffee on my hand." I admitted hesitantly, turning my head away from him in embarrassment that I needed him to help me with the injury. "eejit" Soap said as he released my hand before going over to a press and taking out a first aid kit. He nodded towards the counter before looking back into my eyes "Sit up on the counter there and I'll bandage it".
