Chuuya sighed to himself.
Behind him, the door to one of the Mafia's many interrogation room closed, muffling the panicked cries of the prisoners inside. Executive Kouyou has just finished questioning them, deciding that they had enough information on the whole ordeal. For now.
Kouyou looked at him and sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "Really, the task of interrogation is too mundane and boring after all. Why must I be the one to do it?"
The two executives walked off, down the corridor. Matching his pace with hers, Chuuya shrugged, "Isn't it because you got taught by the best? Aren't you still frequenting meetings with that bastard to get more tips?"
She waved her hands in dismissal, "That's because he really was the best at the job. I think he has a hundred percent success rate actually. Isn't that right?"
A frustrated groan in response, "You're not wrong. But that aside, that guy is just horrible! Isn't he, Ane-san? Why must we still rely on his methods! Especially the underground surveillance system that's still in use. That bastard literally constructed it."
Kouyou laughed at him, "What, just because he's deemed a traitor now, we're supposed to discard the best surveillance system the Port Mafia has ever had?"
Chuuya shook his head in annoyed resignation, "I suppose that wouldn't make sense, but you know-! Ugh. He's just so-"
His all-too-well knowing colleague cut him off with a muffled smile, "Try to keep your little lovers' spat out of this, ne Chuuya-kun? Anyway, so the truth serum we nabbed from those guys. It is with you, right? We can't risk ordinary folks consuming it."
The other executive nodded in affirmation, "It's in my office. I assure you nobody can enter it without permission, so it should be safe. I'll go put it in the vault right away."
Those were the last words exchanged between the pair before they went their separate ways. The older of them went off to report to the boss, while Chuuya went to do exactly what he'd said he would. Lock up the truth serum in his personal vault for the time being.
The whole situation was rather frisky. Some random little organisation had found the means to employ a certain ability user with the ability to formulate anything they imagined. One thing led to another, and they found use for the existence of truth serum. It was very useful in terms of supplying it to their enemies in their drinks and then learning all the information that they'd rather prefer to be kept secret.
The Port Mafia had gotten hands on a rather large vial of the substance, and while they couldn't do anything to cut off the supply of such a product, they confiscated the serum so it could be analyzed properly and to see if an antidote could be formulated.
Such a boring day, really.
Presently, Chuuya walked up to his office. As he'd mentioned to his fellow executive before, his office was one of the safest rooms in the building. Not only would nobody dare enter it without permission, thanks to his status as one of the five Executives, it was also equipped with silent intruder alarms which would directly inform Chuuya of the trespassing.
He had no such notifications on his watch right now, so there was no doubt that the truth serum would be safe. But as it turned out, his predictions were just a little off the mark. That much became evident the moment he opened the door to his office and walked in.
Taking off his coat, he noticed the unfavourable presence of a certain bastard. Seated comfortably on his couch, the guy looked a little dazed, his eyes flittering around before it focused on a vial that stood up straight on the executive's desk.
