Ne Chuuya, won't you marry me?

It was a complete normal day. Normal. Absolutely fucking normal. In fact, Chuuya was having a good day. There were no crazy idiots (read: Dazai Osamu) running around, high on poisonous mushrooms. There were no suicidal freaks (again, read: Dazai Osamu) messing around his workplace and preventing him from getting work done. Usually, Chuuya's wonderful (absolutely not) boyfriend would spam him with a barrage of texts everyday during work hours just because the suicidal bastard was way too lazy to actually do any work at the Detective Agency.

Sometimes, Chuuya genuinely wondered why the Agency President, Fukuzawa-san, still kept Dazai around. He was just a good for nothing bastard who never did any work, after all. Okay, maybe "genuinely" is a stretch. Anybody with half a braincell would know why Dazai never got fired, despite his crazy antics. One, the Armed Detective Agency members believed in treating all their colleagues like family. And as Chuuya very well knew, in the underworld, family didn't come along easy. Once you find a group of people you are lucky enough to call family, you never let them go. Dazai might not open up to people very easily, but he cared for the Agency members. Chuuya also knew that said members cared for, and surprisingly respected him a lot. Other than the whole family aspect of Dazai's employment, the sly bastard was a literal genius. Who would ever fire someone that smart (read: idiotic)?

Currently, Chuuya was finishing up on his last paperwork of the day when his phone started ringing. Being a mafia executive, he obviously had an assembly of duties, and was quite used to getting unnecessary phone calls at any given time of the day. As it turned out, this one wasn't unnecessary at all. Chuuya didn't recognize the phone number, but nobody unimportant would ever dream of having his phone number, so he went ahead and picked it up anyway.

Tired from a long but productive day of work, he sighed as soon as he answered the call, "Who are you and what do you want?"

A nervous voice responded from the other end of the call, "Um, good evening, Nakahara-san."

The Mafia executive alerted himself immediately on instinct. He recognized the voice on the other end; it was the Agency's newest member, the weretiger. Everyone in the underworld knew about the half-beast ability user, and the seven billion bounty that had once been placed on his head. The Port Mafia and the Agency might be on semi-permanent truce right now, but Chuuya couldn't still help be wary of the group that had once been their enemy.

He asked suspiciously, "Nakajima-kun from the Detective Agency, right? What do you want, kid?"

The weretiger tried not to stutter as he spoke, "Yes! That's right! You can, um, call me Atsushi. If you want! You don't have to! I mean!"

Chuuya couldn't help but laugh as he heard the boy fray his nerves because of him. He'd heard about Atsushi-kun from Dazai, and according to him, the newest member of the agency was actually quite a nice boy. Chuuya had never directly spoken to him before, but he just knew that he liked him. After all, he was Dazai's special protégé, and Chuuya knew better than anyone that the former demon prodigy of the Port Mafia had good judgement. You know, considering they used to be partners and all.

Chuuya asked again, a light and friendly tone to his voice, "Don't panic so much, kid. I'm not gonna kill you, jeez. You still haven't told me what you're calling for. And how you got my number."

Atsushi sounded calmer when he replied, "Right! I'm actually at the Yokohama General Hospital, right now. They gave me your number. You're, um, Dazai-san's emergency contact?"

The usually carefree executive stilled, a shiver of panic crawling up his spine, "Emergency? Dazai? Is everything okay?"

Chuuya hadn't realized that he'd already started walking towards the exit of the Port Mafia building when Atsushi-kun spoke again, "No, no, it's nothing too urgent! Kunikida-san had to, uh, bring Dazai-san to the hospital forcefully to get his wisdom tooth removed. The hospital has a dentist department as well and... The nurse suggested we inform the patient's emergency contact."
