For a change, the Armed Detective Agency had a very interesting case! A case which wasn't a must-do because some random evil organisation decided to mess with Yokohama for the hundredth time. No, it was a case requested by a civilian. It was all too exciting, since the Agency's main goal was to help the people of their city.

Obviously, they do help them when they're saving them from evil organisations. But it's fulfilling when they do it directly on the frontlines, with them knowing. Anyway, that's not the point.

An old man walked into the agency a week ago to request their services. Apparently, the man was a jewellery connoisseur, and he was hosting a high-society, fancy exhibition in Tokyo. Of course, an exhibition like that had the potential of attracting a lot of thieves and other criminals.

Hence, the old connoisseur wanted the Agency to parole the event venue during the event. He believed that having such strong ability users would definitely provide better security than just a few security officers.

Since the mission was in another city, the client offered to pay for three hotel rooms and travel expenses for four people at most. Now this was a matter of great excitement, since it was rare that the Agency members get to go on a paid trip.

Soon after the contract with the client had been drawn, the Agency members gathered around to decide on the members who would be going on the trip. After a lot of discussion, they decided on Kunikida, Atsushi, Yosano and Dazai. The decision was not ambiguous in any way, and the four members left for Tokyo when the day before the exhibition event rolled out.

Presently, those four agency members were standing in the middle of a random street in Tokyo. They had just realised their dire situation, and it was safe to say that Kunikida was  not happy. The situation in question?

The group had no reserved hotel rooms.

Atsushi questioned when they had all finally accepted what was going on, "Didn't the client say that he was going to book our hotel rooms?"

Kunikida skimmed through his notebook, "Evidently not. It appears to me that he said he'll pay for the rooms. Which I assume means that we had to book our own rooms and then merely bill it to him."

Yosano sighed in annoyance, "Isn't it clear that we don't have booked rooms? What's the point of standing around here? Let's just go look for a hotel."

Kunikida pointed out after they had started walking down the street, "This time of the year is rather busy in Tokyo, Sensei. I doubt we'll get a hotel room. Besides, I haven't been to Tokyo before, so I don't really know the way around."

Yosano and Atsushi nodded in agreement; they hadn't been to Tokyo before either.

A minute or two of aimless walking later, Dazai finally sighed, "Alright, I guess I'll help you guys out! I've been to Tokyo several times, of course. There's a hotel nearby; let's go see if they have rooms."

Of course, Kunikida yelled at his co-worker as he stomped after him, "What do you mean you'll help us out! If you know this place, shouldn't you have spoken earlier! You bandage wasting-"

Yosano calmed him down with a chuckle, "Leave him be, Kunikida-kun. At least he's helping now."

The idealist muttered furiously under his breath, but he refrained from saying anything else and the three of them followed Dazai on the roads. Ten minutes later, they all found themselves in front of a fairly decent looking hotel.

Kunikida turned to his useless colleague, "Oi Dazai, isn't this hotel expensive? Shouldn't we..."

The detective brushed him off with a wave off his hand, "It's fine, it's fine. The client is paying for it anyway. Besides, I doubt any other hotels will have a room at this time. It's already late, you know."
