A/N: Sequel to 'coffee tastes better short and cute, just like you' !! But can can be read as a standalone <3
Café Uzumaki was still the same with somewhat new people.
The establishment was still very popular with the students from the nearby college, and business was good as far. Since the college semester was at it's somewhat relaxed part, the baristas at the café were coming in more as well.
Chuuya was once again back to working in the evening shift, just as Yosano was. Gin, who they worked with in the morning shift, visited often, even if it was just to complain about how she missed them and wanted them back. Apparently, Tachihara was back to working the morning shift as well, and it was common knowledge that he was a huge annoyance to his one specific co-worker.
Although, despite what she said, Gin did look out for him a lot; so did she really hate him that much?
Anyway.
A few days ago, the café's owner hired this another boy to work the evening shift. Evenings were always busier this time of the year, and they always hired an extra set of hands if they could. The one they hired this year was named Atsushi.
He was a first year in the nearby college, having transferred in just this semester. He was a pretty sweet boy too, trying his hardest to get his job right. Since Yosano was on a break from working due to exams, the new employee was put under Chuuya's care.
As expected, the first thing Chuuya showed him was that he could deliver the coffees fly out to the tables. Gravity manipulation and what not. Atsushi had been so surprised, his eyes sparkling with admiration. He really thought he'd have a cool mentor at his new place of work.
Unfortunately for him, his childlike illusions shattered soon enough.
Once Chuuya had shown him the ropes of working at the café, and Atsushi had figured out how to his job properly, his mentor decided to treat him as a friend. Well, they were certainly friends, but the correct term was probably 'someone-he-vents-to-in-place-of-Yosano'. That's a long term, so friends it is.
Atsushi was ready to quit working after the first week, and Chuuya's ranting was the sole contributor to that fact.
For one, the new barista learned that his older co-worker had a boyfriend. Which would be cool and all, and Atsushi would be happy for his friend. If Chuuya didn't talk about his boyfriend constantly?!
No, seriously. Chuuya talked about his boyfriend all the time. It was ridiculous! At first, Atsushi figured that they might have just started going out, and maybe his mentor was in just the phase of talking about his 'new' partner all the time. But it turned out that the two of them have been together for half a year now?!
Shouldn't Chuuya shut up about his boyfriend already?!
It was weirder because most of the time Chuuya spoke of his partner, it was just insults. But then he'd switch tactics and gush about how cute his partner was, and how Chuuya loved him so much that it was unfair!
Atsushi was usually a nice person, but for some unknown reason, he really wanted his mentor to break up with his partner already. But then again, if that was the case, Chuuya would become more unbearable; talking about his break-up constantly.
So, Atsushi would just fake an interested smile and keep working here. He just had to hold out till Yosano was back, and then he'd be fine. It was a plan.
Two weeks after Atsushi started working at Café Uzumaki, he became acquainted with a new regular. The man was a third year in college, and he looked studious too, especially with those adorable-looking glasses perched on his nose. Moreover, he always had tousled brown hair, and wore bandages around his arms.
