Day 3 of Soukoku Valentine's Week 2022: Chocolate Day

Chocolates were truly the one-stop solution for everything.

Seriously, they were so versatile! For example, one can give chocolate to literally anybody. Oh, a friend is not feeling too well? Obviously, they're not gonna turn down chocolate. Your boss is pissed off? Again, chocolate and maybe throw in a bottle of wine in there. Both items together were a good combination for any person of age.

Chocolates can also work as gifts. If there's absolutely nothing else one can think of, to give to someone as a present, chocolate always works. See, this almost always worked. Considering the receiver in question liked chocolate.

Other than regular old people, chocolates were also important for one's relationship, right? They were a mandatory gift to lovers for birthdays, anniversaries, random surprise presents, Valentine's Day, White Day and then finally, Chocolate Day.

Which just happened to be today.

That's right. It was the ninth of February, which clearly meant that it was Chocolate Day. Plus, it was Chuuya's turn to plan stuff for the day. See, he didn't really know what all the days of Valentine's Week were. But he did look up in advance as to what day it was today, just so he could plan accordingly.

After all, he had an annoying lover who always looked so happy during celebrating this silly week. Indulging in such a thing was fine because it was for that bastard Dazai. Chuuya would rather cut off his hair than ever put with such bullshit for anyone else.

Really, how utterly troublesome.

But well, there was no going back now, was there? Chuuya had already agreed to properly celebrate every single day of Valentine's Week. In his personal opinion, today was definitely the best one.

Chuuya was somewhat of a chocolate snob, as his partner very well knew. It was just that, chocolate was rather similar to wine. It tasted good, it could be used a present in any and every occasion, and it made shitty situations way better. It was the perfect confectionery to be paired with the luxury that is good wine.

Because Chuuya was the biggest wine snob in existence, by extension, he also happened to be a little obsessive about how he liked his chocolates. And he'd take any excuse to buy luxurious chocolates, including today.

Hence, Chuuya had already contacted the owner of the top chocolate company in Japan. He obviously needed to get the very best chocolates. It just made sense. After a lot of back-and-forth with the chocolate company owner, Chuuya finally decided on which chocolates he wanted to order. 

He was paying in huge amounts, so obviously, the chocolate was delivered within hours of his order placement. So, during the day, he stopped by the chocolate company's local branch to pick up his specially crafted chocolates, on his way from work.

Now, it was true that Dazai didn't care too much about chocolates. He liked them, but he wasn't too crazy about them or anything. Chuuya was sure that he wouldn't even consume most of the chocolate given to him. Hence, it would obviously fall upon Chuuya himself to get through the pile. It just made sense to get a bunch of chocolates that Chuuya enjoyed himself.

Of course, he wasn't a stinky fish like his partner, so he definitely got some chocolates that said shitty partner would enjoy too.

Now all there was left was to present the chocolates to Dazai.
(Who would then eat some of it before giving the rest to Chuuya. It was really the perfect plan.)

An hour or so after Chuuya reached home, both him and his partner were very comfortable on the couch in their living room. Sitting close together, the mood very relaxed and pleasant, Chuuya decided that it was the perfect time to bring up the chocolates.
