Dazai had never been more confused in his whole entire life. Which is definitely saying something, considering he was twenty two years old. Moreover, he'd spent the first fifteen years of his life wandering around aimlessly, unsure of the purpose of his life.

The next three years were spent in the mafia where honestly nothing made sense to normal people. And nobody in their right minds would ever refer to Dazai as normal, so he'll just have to slide over that.

Lastly, the last four years of his life were spent in a Detective Agency, where all of the employees were... Unique, to say the least. A pair of siblings were sexually involved, for fuck's sake. If that shouldn't be the epitome of Dazai's confusion, he doesn't know what should.

But now, at this point of his life, he was stumped with confusion like he had never experienced before.

Now, Dazai was somewhat of a genius or something, so he could very well connect a few dots, and follow a rather queer timeline, one he was definitely very sceptical of. But that was the only thing he could do about this, so why not, he figured.

It all started when he accidentally ended up bringing Chuuya to his company get-together. His current co-workers had no idea he was actually involved in a romantic relationship, so it had been rather funny. Of course, Kunikida broke his tenth pen of the day.

But that's not the point! The point is, Chuuya ended up instantly hitting it off with Yosano, the Agency's resident doctor. The two of them had spent most of the evening at the makeshift bar, fingers of one hand around the stems of their wine glasses, and their eyes trained on their and the other's phone.

What were they even doing on each other's phone for so long?! Dazai just figured that they exchanged contact information, email addresses and such, but there's no way that's just it!

Why? Because ever since that party, Chuuya has been acting weird, of course. And here Dazai thought he was the weird one in their relationship. But no, seriously, something has been up with his partner ever since then, and he intended to find out what it was.

Now, he didn't really have any proof that Yosano-sensei did something, but there was no way she was completely innocent. Dazai was convinced of this little, very exaggerated, fact. She'd probably told Chuuya something weird about Dazai. But ugh, that doesn't make sense! After all, Chuuya knows everything about Dazai, damn it.

So, what was it?! What did Yosano-sensei do or say to cause this?!

Dazai wanted answers, for fuck's sake.

The first out-of-character thing Dazai noticed about Chuuya was the purchase of a new pair of high quality, expensive headphones. it was weird because one, Chuuya didn't even listen to music, and two, Dazai was sure that Chuuya didn't even have a Spotify account. So what were the headphones for?! Were they a gift?!

As he found out soon enough, the headphones were, in fact, not a gift and for Chuuya's personal use instead. He also saw noticed that Chuuya had downloaded the Spotify app, and even purchased the Premium plan!! The music widget on his lock screen always showed names of songs; never the wretched 'Advertisement' banner.

Soon after Chuuya had his music session set-up ready, he took to randomly screaming out lyrics to different songs (in English for some reason???). Sometimes, he'd connect his phone to Dazai's speaker and play a few songs for both of them to hear at home. Honestly, since when does Chuuya know how to use Bluetooth?!

Moreover, Dazai would randomly get song lyric texts from his partner throughout the day?! Dazai knew almost all of these artists Chuuya had started listening to, so he was willing to vouch for Chuuya's new good music taste. But even if Chuuya knew these English artists, and liked their music, the songs he decided to quote to Dazai were fucking suspicious?!
