Chapter 18- Snow Goddess

Leo

Leo and the other rushed to the site of the explosion. It was Hazel's bedroom. He muse was flying through the door way, walling that Hazel needed help.

The muses and the demigods went in. Suprisingly, even Jason was there.

Leo was worried that Jason might hate him. After all, he did through hot flames in his face. But Jason just focused on the problem.

That prblem was Khoine.

 Frank gasped. Leo and the others had told him, Percy and Hazel  about their quest, so e reconized Khoine.

Khoine had blown ice through the wall, making a person sized hole. She sat on Hazel's bed idly. Hazel had rushed back to her friends and now stood by Leo.

Khoine focosed on Leo.

"Ah, Leo Valdez. If memory serves, we know eachother because I was in the plot of destroying your dragon," She grinned. "Which seems to have lost everything except it's body, now."

Leo smirked. "I thought we knew eachother because I burned you, but, also because of my dragon." His voice sagged a litlle at the last part.

"Jaosn, and Piper aren't dead yet either, it would seem. Too bad." She noticed the 2 Romans.

"Frank Zhang, son of Mars, thoguh you would much rather be the son of Apollo, o anyone esle for that matter. You bear the curse of firewood. Hazel Levesque, daughter of Pluto. You bear a curse of...dangerous diamonds. Odd. Well, you somewhat resent your godly parent, for cursing you."

Hazel stepped back.

"Piper, Jason, you both know I still resent you. Leo, I hate you the most, fire user. But, I would like to remind you all that some gods despise you. Hmm, how to prove it?"

Piper gripped her dagger. "Why don't you just leave?" She charmspeaked.

Khoine laughed. "That doesn't work on me, daughter of Aphrodite. Now, how should I- AH!, I know. Leo, since I hate you most of all..." She flew upstairs.

Leo ran after her. Piper charspeaked the muses into staying downstairs, and then the deigods ran after Leo onto deck.

Khoine sat at the helm, stroking Festus.

"Get. Away. From. My. Dragon."

Khoine laughed at Leo. "Son of Hephaestus, I could beat you in a fight easily. I could beat all of you easily. But that wouldn't break your spirits, would it? So instead..."

Khoine summonded a pile of snow in her hand.

"Frank and Hazel, you know of the quest these 3 undertook?" They nodded."Remind me why Festus crashed once."

Hazel gulped. Frank stepped back.

Leo summonded fire. "Away from Festus." He ordered. "Or the fire goes down your throat."

Hazel stepped back. It was obvious she wanted to comfort Leo, but she had Frank's firewood in her pocket.

Leo felt more and more anger as Khoine continuesly stroked Festus's snout. She wouldn't do anything to him, she'd know I'd attack. My fire would melt her. So, why don't I just attack? Leo thoguht to himself.

Aperently, Khoine knew what he was thinking. She slowly flew next to him. "All of you, back away from the boy."

Leo mouthed that it was fine and they all backed away hesitently.

"Now, Leo Valdez. You usually think that Jason and Piper ae your best friends. You think Hazel is your friend. You think Frank doesn't hate you as much as he used to."

Frank laughed a little. He was quickly elbowed by Hazel.

"But you are terribly wrong, Leo Valdez. Because you have no companions. What did Nemesis say? Hmmm, you are the 7th wheel? Ah, yes, that's right. Nemesis is very smart, and correct."

Jason took a step. "What's she talking about Leo?"

Hazel started to sob. Through her tears, she quickly explained what Nemesis had told them.

Piper looked shocked. "You don't believe her, do you Leo?"

Leo was about to answer when Khoine interuppted.

"Oh, he does," She purred. "He believes every last word. He has started to think that you all see him as a repair boy, one who will build things, and fix things, but never see him as a companion."

Piper gasped as the nickname she had invented for Leo was said.

Jason glared at Khoine. "Leo, you're my best friend. Don't listen to her."

Leo started to tremble as Khoine layed a hand on his shoulder.

"The problem is, Jason, that she;s right, I do believe her."

"See, pitiful demigods. He's been torturing himself with this news ever since it was delievered. Quite sad, it is. Too bad I don't like any of you."

Leo was tired of Khoine. He was tired of being repair boy. He was tired of Piper and Jason dating, leaving him alone. He was tired of the same for Frank and Hazel.

Most of all, he was tired of being the seventh wheel. He didn't deserve to be pushed around like this.

Khoine grinned. "You see demigods? Your boy Leo has been worring over this news for a long time. Meanwhile, you all have been spending time with eachother. Fank, you blame Leo for sooooo amny things. Piper, Jason, you two avoid him for your own needs. Nico disaprroves of him. Hazel is somewhat annoyed by him."

Leo stopped at that. Hazel was annoyed by him. He glanced at her. Her mouth was in a tight line.

Khoine glided over to Festus again. "So, since you have all betrayed him, I need a new tatic. And Leo, you are quite fond of your former dragon friend, correct?"

Leo didn't answer.

Khoine cackled. "And there's my answer." She pressed her hand to Festus and he began to ice.

"Khoine, stop." Hazel ordered.

Festus was turning blue.

Leo remembered the last time this happened to Festsus.

He wouldn't let it happen again.

But before he could do anything, Festus stopped making his usual clicks and clacks. Khoine floated  a few feet away.

Leo rushed to his friends side. He opened his wiring circuts.

They were broken from the ice.

"You-you..froze him. You killed him." Leo trembled.

Khion said, "So I did." She dropped over the side of the boat, into the ocean below.

Leo summonded fire and jumped after her.
