I'M ALIVE.
WARNING- MOST OF YOU WILL GET REALLY SAD REALLY FAST
ON TO THE TALE
Leo
"Woah your girlfriend's hot!"
Silena blushed. "Oh....thank you, Leo."
Beckendorf chuckled lightly, putting his arm around Silena Beauragard, daughter of Aphrodite. Appearently, she was the girl Piper talked about all the time at camp, saying she wished she was more like her older sister.
"So....death. Twice. For both of you." Leo fidgeted as his older half brother froze. "What's that like?"
"Painful." Silena said quietly. "Not in the aspect of physical pain, but of mental one. Losing everyone twice....it's tragic."
Beckendorf squeezed Silena's hand, and kissed her cheek lightly, making the daughter of Aprodite blush.
Leo felt bad for asking, but hey- he was a curious guy.
"Silena's got it to a tea." Beckendorf said with a sad smile, glancing at his half brother. "What about you?"
"Huh?"
"How did you feel?"
That's one of those questions the smart kids in the front of the classroom would start muddling with, and leave the back three rows staring at the teacher, not quite understanding, at Leo's old schools.
"I felt..." Any number of words could pass. Used, hurt, angered, lost, alone. But only one seems liable.
"Betrayed."
And by the bob of heads, Leo knows they feel for him, the children of Aphrodite and Hephaestus who only met Leo an hour ago, understand him better then he understands machinary.
PLus, the word is entirely true. Leo had all the right in the world to feel betrayed. He was betrayed by his own father, by his two best friends; who treated him as a third wheel, by his tools, by the Romans; who Leo should have gotten along with, by so many. And by Hazel.
Hazel's betrayel hurt the most. He hadn't understood immdently, that the cute, curly haired girl he trusted didn't trust him.
"By who?" Silena said softly. "The gods?"
Oh, don't even get Leo started on the gods.
First of all, if the gods could make people immortal with consent and a snap of fingers, why didn't they save people before they died? Send Apollon or whatever the sun god's name was to heal them?
Second, the gods lied. They say they cared for their kids- lie. They say they couldn't help the demigods- lie. They said they used heros- truth.
Because they just didn't use heros to help them, they completely took over someone's consious and twisted to make everything the gods saw as an enemy, the demigods enemy as well.
That's what had happened to Percy Jackson, anyway.
Third- The gods honestly don't seem to care whether or not the seven of prophecy live or die. In fact, Annabeth's mother had disowned her, according to Piper. Jason's dad was Zeus- what more explanation does that need? Hephaestus was the mother of all deadbeat dads. Ares threatened his kids to make them fight, no doubt in Leo's mind. Poseidon and Aphrodite seemed like choice parents in Leo's mind.
Fourth- Enough with the prophecy crap. Leo knew the gods could straight up tell you what your prophecy meant, or tell you your destiny. But nope, go to the oracle, get a confusing prophecy, go on a dangerous quest, blah blah blah.
Usually, Leo was a pretty chill guy, but he felt heat inside of him- metaphorically of course, considering his past. He'd always had the other type of heat- the anger that his siblings possessed. It often never came up. Jokes and funny stories were Leo's type of talk. But the gods.....they made him really freaking mad right then.
"Yeah." Leo said cooly.
---------------------------------------------
"Kinda weird layout, if you ask me," Beckendorf shrugged. "If I was allowed, I would-"
"Oh Charlie," Silena giggled lightly. "It's fine."
Leo had to agree, the fact that there were houses in Elysium struck him as weird too. Who could've guessed?
"Soulmates share a house, appearently." The son of Hephaestus blushed. " Which is why-"
"We share a house." Silena smiled at Beckendorf.
Leo grinned. "Awesome. Who's my soulmate?"
Silena and Beckendorf's faces immdently fell.
"Uh, you see Leo....not everyone has a soulmate. I mean, everyone does. Who you're meant to be with. But.....either your soulmate isn't dead yet, or-"
"I don't have one."
"Of course you do." The daughter of Aphrodite cut in, quickly. "They're just-"
"Not dead yet. Of course. That's good, hope they live a long, happy life. You crazy kids go hang out at your house. Together."
"Are you implying that-" Silena was cut off as Leo ushered then out the door.
"Use protection!" Leo yelled before shutting the door.
He would have had some deep, meaningful inner conversation with himself about his soulmate, but the only thought he had was whether or not Beckendorf could get Silena pregnent if they were both dead.
It was a good distraction.
