SECOND TO LAST CHAPTER HELL YEAH
I'VE DECIDED WHEN FINISH THE NEXT CHAPTER, I'M EDITING THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK- because let's be real, I really sucked when I first started this book- TO MAKE IT MORE...EH, APPEALING.
Warning- this one's pretty bloody
ALSO- As you can tell, from le title, I got some influence from the "SAIL" song. But also I found this really cool Jo Harvelle video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etZeMpu1YTc&list=LL9eC-2wqQp6QgNY9s7OGXCA- and literally all of the vid reminds me of this chapter. Especially the ending.....
Percy
"Perseus Jackson." Hissed the wierd lizard thing, advancing on the trio of demigods.
"I'm not even going to correct you this time," Percy grunted, swinging his sword and killing it.
They'd escaped from the throne room just in time. There were more monsters out then normal, and Hazel, Annabeth and Percy were constantly on their toes. Despite her neck still bleeding, Hazel was fighting just as furiously as the others.
Percy kept killing monsters, of course, but Bianca crumpling to the ground was something he could not unsee, and her image was everywhere.
How could he had not saved her? How dare he actually choose between two of his friends, forcing the other to be killed?
The answer, of course, was that this all happened because Percy was selfish.
"Annabeth, duck!" Hazel shrieked as something flew over her head.
Percy spared a few seconds to look over, and saw Kelli, the empousa Percy had killed long ago, pouncing on Annabeth.
"Annabeth!" He yelled, sprinting through the throngs of monsters to get to her, to save her.
Percy biggest flaw, it sometimes seemed, wasn't loyalty.
It was his girlfriend.
Something bit his shoulder, and he whirled around, sword already in motion, stabbing skeleton soldier. Percy wanted to ask why a skeleton would want to bite him, but it was already dead, dissolving into gold powder.
He tried to focus on getting to Annabeth again, but it seemed Kelli was taken care of. Hazel was helping Annabeth up grimly as more monsters circled them.
The minotaur was standing a few feet away and Percy lunged without thinking, grapping onto his back. He struggled to pull himself up as the Minotaur turned, expecting Percy to be standing behind him. As Percy gripping on of the horns- both were broken as Percy had cut them off last year- the Minotaur seemed to understand what was going on, because he kept turning and whirling, trying to shake Percy off. But Percy needed to see something, and he wasn't planning on getting thrown that easily.
His hands were slick with blood, sweat, and Zeus knows what else, but his fingers clutched the other broken horn like it was a life-line.
"ARGH!" The monster flung his head back, and Percy was almost slammed against the ground. But he threw his arms around either of the horns, shut his eyes, and hoped he wouldn't fall.
And he didn't.
The son of Poseidon opened his eyes and realized, while the Minotaur was still trying to throw Percy, he wouldn't be able to. Because Percy had found what he was looking for.
The Doors of Death were less then 200 feet away, standing in all their gray ghostly pride. Monsters circled it, and Percy hear many shout for "Perseus Jackson's" death.
