TO THE TALES OF WOE
Percy
Percy never thought he would betray anyone who mattered to him.
Maybe it was the fact that he had awesome friends.
More so it was probably his fatal flaw: Loyalty.
Of course, he was doing this to protect Annabeth, so it was okay, okay?
Percy sighed. Not okay. Defiently not okay.
"Percy?" Annabeth whispered as they ate.
Percy raises an eyebrow as answer and took a bite of the juicy apple he had been given by Bianca and Zoe. He wondered if a god really was helping them out with food. Maybe Anteros? It didn't matter which god, really, to Percy. He wouldn't care if Ares had been giving them this food, as long as he could keep his strength up.
"Maybe you should take another nap before we keep moving, just in case?"
Percy grit his teeth, He knew all Annabeth wanted was for Percy to be okay. Zoe, Bianca and Silena did too. But they had to get to the doors soon. Yesterday they had been attacked again, and Pecy couldn't even help the girls in the fight. His shoulder was still bothering him.
Percy sighed in defeat. He was still tired, no matter how he fought it. "Okay, a short nap."
He had two days before Gaea showed up and he betrayed everyone.
Percy layed down. He wasn't the slightest bit comfortable with the rockedy ground and the cold air chafting around him, the threat of a monster attack over his head. But when Annabeth stroked his hair, he felt way better.
Before he knew it, his eyes closed, and he was thrust into a dream he didn't want.
Percy gripped Annabeth's hand tightly as they fell, cars and peices of earth falling with them.
"Percy!" Annabeth cried and moved in closer.
They kissed.
With the air fleeting all around them, and the scent of blood heavy, the dark, pointed walls with it's sharp edges that caught on their clothes, the kiss wasn't perfect.
It was better then perfect.
Because as long as Percy was with Annabeth, as long as she was okay, everything was perfect and passionate in Percy Jackson's amazing life.
Well, not amazing often, bu on those special occasions, when he and Annabeth went out, when Percy stayed up late watching old cartoons with his mom and Paul, when he got to laugh at Grover playing Mustcrat Love on his reed pipes, when Percy was actually winning, those slim moments made Percy feel amazing, at least.
But as it bounced around in his mind, Percy realized how utterly screwed up his life was.
First he had been thrust in the world of mythology with no warning, and his mom had been taken. His father had called him a mistake.
Then his best friend Grover was almost killed.'And he had gotten a monster brother.
Then....oh gods, the worst time. When Annabeth had been kidnapped. Also, Nico almost killed him because of Bianca's death.
Never mind the fact that Luke Castellan had been tranformed into Kronos (more like the other way around) and Percy had to attend a shroud burning. Oh, almost forgot- He had been blown out of a volcano.
Percy didn't even want to think about last summer, or this summer.
But Percy was just a kid. His life.......it sucked. Face facts Jackson, he had told himself often, you're probably not gonna ever catch a break.
Percy and Annabeth continued to fall to the endless void of darkness that was Tartarus.
Percy shoved Riptide into his pocket and got ready to move.
Bianca and Zoe were preparing their packs and bows, and Silena was watching while Annabeth collected the slim supplies that were in her recently found backpack.
No matter where you travel, Perseus, I will find you. I will find you and force you into my army.
Percy scowled. Annabeth must have noticed because she walked over and and kissed him on the cheek.
"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Silena sighed, both sadly and happily, if that was possible.
Gaea needed to give Percy a day. Seriously.
"So, I found somethings out on my laptop while you were slee-"
"You have WiFi here?" Percy must have looked shocked.
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "The Daedalus laptop doesn't need WiFi, Seaweed Brain."
Percy blushed.
"Anyway, turns out there is a River in Tartarus.."
Percy raised his hand like a student.
"No Percy, you cannot swim in it." Annabeth said, shooting him down.
"Aw."
"It's made of lava, Percy." Zoe said with a small smile.
Bianca stifled a laugh.
Silena was grinning. "Anything else?"
"A few things about the House of Hades itself," Annabeth continued, her gray eyes big. "It's a temple to Hades and Persephone, but that I already knew. Supposedly, based on some research from Daedalus, it has layers. Three layers, to be exact. The first layer is what were almost to, we should reach it by tomorrow. On it, is just monsters. The second layer is basically a prison, where they keep the baddies of Tartarus. The third layer has a 50-headed hydra-"
Percy paled, as did all the others.
"That guards the doors. Also, that's where the River of Lava is, Perce. If we get past those two obstacles, then we have gotten to the doors."
"Excellent." Bianca said shakedly.
"Question," Silena interupted. "Who's staying behind?"
It got quiet really fast.
Percy woud have volunteered immdently if it wasn't for that fact he had a big betrayal on his calender.
"We'll tak about that later," Percy promised. "The prophecy too."
Everyone nodded and started walking the Highway to Hell.

Two chapters in one day.
