Jason

Jason knew something bad had happened when Nico nearly broke his door down at 3 am.

After gathering the others, they all sat (yes, in their pjs) in the mess room.

"So, di Angelo, what is it?" Frank said gruffly. He hadn't been taking Leo's death well, oddly enough.

Nico was paler then usual and shaking like a leaf in a storm, so it had to be tragic.

"As you guys know," The son of Hades croaked out. "I can sense death.''

"We knew." Piper said sharply, her messy hair streaming loosely down her shoulders, circles under her beautiful eyes. She look tramatized. And hot.

"I'm sorry your agony looks so good."

Every head snapped in Jason's direction.

"What did you just say Grace?" Hedge asked, calmly wiping a suspicious red smudge off his bat.

"I mean......please continue, Nico."

Nico shook his head and looked up, dark circles under his even darker eyes. "It's Annabeth."

Being one of Annabeth's best friends, Piper jumped. "What?!"

"She's..." He pursed his lips. "Gone."

"Define gone." Frank said slowly, as Piper paced back and forth.

"Dead."

It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. (Coincidentally, a pin did drop out of Piper's hair)

"WHAT."

"Piper, please cal-"

"OH MY GODS TELL ME YOU'RE JOKING."

"Pipes, let's not get-"

"NICO PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE KIDDING."

"McLean, this is harsh news but for all we know, the kid could be wrong."

"Hey!"

"Sorry Di Angelo."

"SOMEONE TELL ME HE'S WRONG."

"Piper," Frank grabbed her by the shoulders, causing Jason's muscles to clench. "Calm. Down."

Piper took a deep breath, and glanced around at everyone. "I-I-....sorry for yelling. It's just..." Tears pooled in the daughter of Aphrodite's eyes. "Annabeth's one of my greatest friends....and Leo's gone now too...I just-"

"We understand, Piper." Nico said gently. "Annabeth was my friend too- All of our friends. I'm almost positive but hey- there's always a chance. Percy wouldn't let this happen unprecedented, right?"

Jason swallowed. Percy wouldn't let this happen....if it was within his power....however, if he couldn't do anything- say he was captured- then Percy wouldn't be able to do a thing.

Percy couldn't save everyone.

"Let's just keep our heads," Frank said as he held his. "We'll IM Percy and see if the connection gets through to Tartarus."

"We'll IM him later." Hedge corrected.

"Later? Why not now?"

"Pie time." Hedge smiled and left the room.

"Snack break it is then."

-

The coin was cold in Jason's hand.

The others were upstairs, maybe eating, maybe too worried to eat. Either way, Jason had headed down to the boiler room to IM Percy.

"Fleecy, do me a solid. Show me Perseus Jackson...in Tartarus." The coin went through the flow of water coming from the rusted faucet, and dissapeared.

An image formed - a fuzzy, black and white, nearly transparent image, but an image all the same.

"Pursi, itz al be ahka." The voices were very disfunctional, but thanks to Jason's mental filter, he heard "Percy It'll be okay".

"No! You're wrong! She's gone Bianca, she's gone!"

"Ey, chin up chap."

"SHUT UP WILLIAM!"

"DON'T YELL AT MY SKELETON!"

"ANNABETH'S DEAD AND I'M NOT ALLOWED TO GET ANGRY??"

Around this point Jason decided to intervene. "HEY!"

The three figures whirled around.

"Jason?" Asked Percy.

"Dude...Annabeth? Is she okay? Nico said-"

"Nico? Is he okay? Still kicking?' Bianca interupted, then glanced at Percy. "Sorry."

"Nico's fine. But he said...Annabeth-"

"Is dead." Percy said, glaring at Jason.

"I'm so sorry man. What happene-"

"Don't say you're sorry."

"Perce, listen, I know how this feels. My mom-"

"Don't say that. Please don't say that. Because you don't understand. And you never will!" Percy had tears streaming down his cheeks. Bianca chewed her lip.

"Dude-"

"Don't "dude" me Jason!" Percy yelled, the skeleton (that Jason still didn't understand) jumping. "Just shut the Hades up and get to the doors! If anyone else doesn't make it, I'm going to kill you." And with that, Percy slahsed through the message.

Jason's heart pounded as he leaned on the wall, and slid down to a crouch, putting his head in his hands. Annabeth's death had messed Percy up.....
