A blessing, or a curse?

They all sat on the comfty couches.

Atlanta began to speak.

"Atalanta's blessing was given to me three years ago. It gave me superhuman acceracy, super speed, amazing hunting skills, and awesome bladesmanship."

Leo managed a smile. "You said super so mny times, seems like you're Hawkeye."

Atlanta ignored him. "But,"

"Oh, there's a but." Piper groaned.

Leo stifled a laugh.

"But, you have to go on a solo quest."

Jason straightened beside Piper. "Solo quest?"

"Supremely dangerous. I was almost killed 10 times over."

"Details?" Hazel prodded.

"Oh, yeah. Well, you have to defeat, uh....Atalanta's greatest enemy....."

Piper raised an eyebrow. "Aphrodite?"

"No."

"Gaea?" Frank asked.

" 'Course not."

"Uh.....donkey ear guy with gold power?" Leo chewed his lip.

"Minos?" Atlanta said.

"Yeah!"

"Then no."

"Just tell us." Leo groaned.

"It's Jason."

All eyes went on Jason. "Uh, wat?" Leo gaped.

"Not this Jason! Achient Greek Jason!" Atlanta said quickly.

Piper paled. "Came through the doors?"

Atlanta nodded. "He's in Crete."

Frank choked. "Crete??" 

 

Atlanta continued. "So, he'll be in this temple. Not sure which one. You'll have to defeat him with your new powers."

'"Why is Jason her enemy?" Hedge shouted from the hallway. 

"He refused to let her be an Argonaut. Cause she was a girl." Atlanta wrinkled her nose, clearly showing she didn't approve of Jason's choice, or his reasoning.

"How do I get the powers?" Piper trembled, still white with shock.

Jason's arm encircled her.

Atlanta looked confused. "You have the powers. Already."

Piper raised an eyebrow. "But when you were fighting the giants.....your bow...'

"Daugter of Apollo. With or without the blessing, I have great accuracy." Atlanta said a bit proudly.

"Woah, woah, woah, you call it a blessing?" Hazel interuppted. "How is this a blessing? Sounds like a curse to me."

"Did I forget to mention," Atlanta said quietly. "You could kill the giants without the gods then. Because those powers-"

"Make Piper a goddess?" Frank's eyes were wide.

"Techancalities.....she's not a goddess...but they highten her godly blood that she already had, and-"

"I get it." Piper broke. "I got the info. Thanks Atlanta."

Atlanta nodded courtly. "I should be off." 

"Where are you going?" Leo questioned. 

"Following th campers."

"Oh, well, good luck."

"Mm." Atlanta pursed her lip. "Give Percy and Annabeth my best." 

"If we find them." Piper murmured.

"When you find them." Atlanta corrected. She and Hedge went to the deck, Hedge going so he could help her off.

"Well." Piper said. "That was-" And finally, Piper sobbed and held her midsection, letting it out. She buried her head in Jason's awaiting chest. Her only thought was, "I'm going to die."
