Dabi walked into the office, his blue eyes looking around suspiciously. He had been summoned not long after Chise fell back asleep. Compress said he would keep an eye on her.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting," said a familiar voice.

"No," Dabi plopped in the chair.

"It's overdue for us to meet," he sat at his desk, "I hope you don't think I've been neglecting you."

"We've all been busy."

"Especially you," he leaned on his desk, "what do you know about our dear Chise?"

Dabi didn't like his wording choice, his eyes narrowed, "Nothing."

"You know, her parents were big in the Yakuza ring. Specifically opium. You could say this life is in her blood."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because I have a feeling the death of her brother has unlocked a Chise we do not know," he leaned back, "You are her leash, you should be informed."

"What makes you think that?"

"I'm not a fool," AFO chuckled, "There's a power in someone caring for you. One that you can use to your advantage if you know how."

"I wouldn't make those assumptions," he scoffed, "I'm just keeping us a step ahead."

He scoffed back, "Whatever you want us to believe...though you know....your quirk and hers....now that would be a sight to see."

"If you're implying what I think you are..." Dabis patience was quickly dissolving, "then we're done here."

"You know I don't mean to offend you, given your history. I'm just rambling." He stood, "Keep an eye on her, if she is going to act on her revenge, she needs to be healed."

Dabi stood and hastily walked out of the door. He did not like where their boss was going with his theories. He now knew how powerful Chise was, and the beginnings of what she was capable of. It put him on edge. AFO was sneaky, and always plotting incase his plans failed. Surely he wouldn't try to use her. He swallowed the anger that was building inside of him. She was his. No matter who tried, if anyone challenged that, he would kill them.

Chise had showered, dressing in the clothing Toga had provided. It was a pair of grey sweatpants and an oversized button up shirt. Something warm, but soft on her skin. Her eyes were still glassy from her shower sobbing session. Grief was...strange. One moment she was feeling everything. The next, she felt numb. It was enough to give her mental whiplash.

Compress had been kind and brought her some soup and water. They sat and spoke for a while. He gave her words of encouragement, and decided to aid in the quest to avenge Haru. He was really an alright guy. A little odd, but hell, this entire band of misfits was odd. Even her.

Dabi walked into the room instantly meeting her eyes. She blinked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he looked away from her, "Did they check your shoulder?"

"Yeah. It's fine," she didn't believe him, but she wouldn't push him either.

He sauntered up to her, "He said for you to focus on healing up. Then we can go from there."

"Does he expect me to follow his orders?"

He smirked, "Probably not, but he still said them."

"Of course," she looked at him, "You haven't slept have you?"

"It doesn't matter."

"It does matter," she sighed, "stop being stubborn."

"What, you toss my father like a rag doll and think you can talk to me like this?"

She smirked, "Yes."

He sighed with a smile, "You're not gonna shut up are you?"

"No. Besides, I don't want to be alone," she paused, "I think too much."

He nodded, "Lemme make sure those other idiots stay away, then I'll come back, deal?"

Chise settled down into the bed, "Okay."

It wasn't long before he was back. The room was dark and cool in the autumn night. Her eyes opened briefly when he wrapped around her. His bare chest was warm as she relaxed against him. It brought her calmness in her storm. She turned and buried her face into his neck, breathing in his Smokey scent.

He wound a hand almost possessively into her hair, keeping her close to him. Chise wasn't leaving his side. This whole league could get fucked for all he cared. Wait...why did he care? He let out a long breath and closed his eyes. He was confused right now, not sure what to process.
_______
Chise opened her eyes as the sun began to rise. Her face was still buried in the warmth that encompassed her. She could feel the cool air in the room. From what she gathered. This was an old farm that had been abandoned. Whether the house had working heat or not was up in the air.

She attempted to move when a strong arm stopped her, "Don't, it's freezing in here."

"Are you not cold?"

"No, my quirk keeps my body warm," he yawned and settled back against her.

Chise placed a kiss on his shoulder, laying her head back down, "Thank you for tolerating me."

His blue eyes blinked for a moment, "Go back to sleep before I change my mind."

She smiled slightly and closed her eyes. Luckily his quirk was heating them both, keeping them comfortably warm.
_________
Compress sat in the office his hat was off respectfully, leaving on his mask. AFO was currently sitting across from him.

"So, let me make sure I understand," his brown eyes looked at the leader of their cause, "You want to harness her quirk...why not take it?"

"There are some quirks that even I cannot touch," the large man sat back in his chair, "She could produce an incredibly strong heir as well...I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. But, you've been so open with me concerning Dabi and her, I figured I would consult with your thoughts."

"I think if you play with fire you get burned," Compress didn't like where this was going, "Chise is no fool. Neither is Dabi."

"Oh I'm aware. I'm counting on them to stay a step ahead," he chuckled, "Once she gets her revenge, I'll need to take her, so she doesn't leave us."

The magician man stood, placing his hat on his head, "While I don't understand your goal here, there is one thing I will not deny." He looked over the man before him, "When they're on the same page....they won't be stopped."

He walked out of the office door, leaving AFO to his thoughts. The massive villain chuckled to himself, "Good."
