He buried into her neck, refusing to look at any form of time. Chise didn't question it either. Instead she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, holding him as close as she could.

They had spent their entire day like this. Relaxing, pretending the world didn't exist. Her phone had buzzed a number of times. Each time, Dabi gave her words of encouragement that she was safe.

His phone buzzed as he sighed at reached over, answering. She knew it was time, meaning Hawks would be here soon. Sitting up, she watched him as he spoke in his cryptic ways, dodging where he was. Their eyes met briefly before he hung up, "You're nosy."

Chise chuckled, "You think so?"

"I have to go," he set the phone down and grabbed his clothes, "They want to have yet another stupid meeting before all of this goes off."

"I know how much of a fan you are of pointless meetings," she flashed a smile at his glare, "So then this will be it."

"Yeah," he pulled his shirt over his head, "It's all yours."

"What is?"

"My money, the apartment, all of it," he looked at her, "But don't go trigger happy...if I make it, I expect it back."

It broke her heart. This hurt more than she had thought it would. She decided to play it off, "I'll think on it."

He rolled his eyes with a smirk, "You better think hard." He strode over to her, placing a kiss on her lips. She could see the sadness buried in his stunning eyes, "Hawks will be here within the hour."

"I know the drill," she pulled his lips down to hers one last time, "Listen I know you're all keen on dying and shit, but, it'd be pretty amazing if you lived."

"I'll keep that in mind," he landed a lingering kiss on her cheek, "Behave."

"Give 'em hell."

Her green eyes watched as his form disappeared around the corner. Only when she heard the door close and lock, did she finally crack. She loved that idiot. Her heart shattered at the thought she would never hear his annoying voice again. That his stunning eyes would never look at her. This was bullshit. She was angry and sad as she sobbed into the sheets.

Hawks landed on the roof, his golden eyes scanning the area around him before he jumped down. Dabi had warned him of AFO calling her repeatedly. It reminded him of his stalker one night stands.

He used his key copy to open the door, quietly closing and locking it behind him. It was late, so he would take her in the morning. When he turned the corner, he saw her sleeping form. A wave of sadness hit him when he saw her face. She had been crying. He knew this would be hard. Dabi had somewhat expressed his hatred in it as well.

Sighing, he walked to her side of the bed and sat down, "Chise," her eyes slowly opened as he pet her hair, "You can rest, I just wanted to let you know I was here."

"Can you stay," she swallowed.

"Of course. Lemme get changed okay?"

He quickly changed into a pair of sweatpants and crawled into the sheets. She wasted no time curling up to him. He fought his mind when his hand wrapped around her waist. Chise sensed his discomfort, "Sorry, I put a shirt on, but didn't-"

"It's okay," he smiled and held her close, "You're allowed to be upset and sad."

"I'm trying not to be..." she sniffled, "I just feel like my heart has been ripped out."

He frowned and rested his head on hers, "The only thing I can do is offer you comfort, and tell you to live up to the promise you made."

He held her all night, even in his sleep, his grasp never faltered. Hawks had made up his mind: no matter what, he would be there for her. For him. Dabi had meant a lot to him, more than he would ever say. Therefore, in his mind, Chise meant just as much. He would do anything and everything.

Chise peeled her swollen eyes open as the sun landed through the blinds. Hawks still had his hold on her. She was grateful for him. Had she been forced to stay alone, she would be horridly miserable.

His golden eyes fluttered open, "You okay?"

She nodded as she rested against him, "Yeah. Thank you, for being here."

"Even if you get tired of me, I'll always be here," he smirked, "So get used to it."

She smiled slightly as she sat up, "I'll hold you to it."

He laid on his back and yawned, "Please do."

"Are you sad?"

He turned his head and looked at her, "Yeah, I am. He meant a lot to me too."

"Not just in a friend way," she smiled at his blush, "It's okay Hawks."

"He'd be pissed if he saw us right now," he chuckled, "Looking like a couple of sad sacks."

"He'd get over it," she stretched her arms, "I'm going to get a shower."

He nodded, "After that, we can go. You're staying at my place until this is all over."

When she disappeared into the bathroom he closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He was sad, but having her with him brought some type of comfort. He knew she felt it too. He needed to get up, but, his body was tired. Luckily he had a rest day before the real fight began.

He heard giggling coming from the bathroom. It was a welcome sound right now, warming his heart. Leaning up, hawks saw her walking into the bedroom, the towel wrapped around her. He blinked, "Chise...what did you do?"

She laughed so hard she was crying, "I used color remover." She flipped on the light. Her red hair was now a rose gold, "It didn't all come out. It looks like cotton candy."

He couldn't help but laugh, "It doesn't look bad, but you're right." He stood and walked up to her, feeling her damp hair, "It's cute."

"Thanks," she finally composed herself, "Maybe it'll lighten when it dries."

He shrugged, "If it doesn't it's still cute."

Chise smiled. He was taking his job as cheerleader seriously, and to be honest, it meant the world.
