Chise's hands softly moved over the paper of her sketchbook. Her eyes studied the trees outside, the brilliant fall colors of their leaves shone in the afternoon sun. Dabi laid on the couch, breathing softly. She could tell he had been overdoing it, his scars had moved up on his face, his blue eyes were tired. He had been resting most of the day after their reunion last night.

Her back rested against the couch as she worked. His arm lazily rested over her shoulder. Chise had noticed how he craved her to be next to him. He kept their contact almost constant, as if his life depended on it. She didn't mind, his touch was welcomed on her skin.

His eyes fluttered open slowly, scanning the room before tilting his head to study her. Red suited her, making her green eyes pop. The oversized white, button up shirt in the setting Sun almost made her skin glow. He could see the concentration in her brows as she softly bit her lip. She was fucking beautiful.

"You're actually good at that," he looked over her drawing of an autumn forest. The leaves softly falling from the trees and landing on the overgrown pathway.

She scoffed with a smile, "I'm intermediate at best," her eyes shifted to him, "I'm glad to see you resting."

"It's nice to have quiet." He sat up on his elbows, "Lemme see it."

"Don't make fun of me," she handed over the sketchbook.

He flipped through it quietly, scanning the different landscapes. He wanted to tease her, but, she really was good. "Why don't your pursue this more?"

"Because," she sighed, "It's not any good."

"I think it is," he handed her back her work, "When this is all over, you should sell them."

"You should have higher standards."

Her cheeks felt warm in the way his eyes raked over her, "I have extremely high standards."

"So how long are you here," she set down the book and turned to face him.

"I should probably disappear tomorrow," he laid back and sighed, "But I won't be away so long this time."

"I'm sorry about Hawks."

His eyes cut to her, "I knew he would do it eventually. I taught him a lesson though."

"Maybe he learned it," she smiled slightly.

"Doubtful," he reached down and pulled her up to him, "he did what I asked, so I can't be too upset." A smirk landed on him as her cheeks flushed slightly, "I'm better than him."

Chise settled her elbows on either side of him, "You definitely are, but I'm not going to sit here and stroke your ego."

He leaned up and met her lips briefly before pulling her against him. He was annoyed with himself at how needy he was. It wasn't like him. But, he'd had plenty of time to think in their time apart. He needed her, in so many different ways. Compress had helped him sort through himself in one of their many conversations. However, as far as the league knew, she was still MIA.

She listened to his strong heartbeat and closed her eyes. In a perfect world, he wouldn't have to leave again. They could just exist in the same space, sharing the peace that the other brought.

A sigh escaped her as she leaned up. Her eyes met his briefly as she made a move to get up, but his arm stopped her. A chuckle escaped her, "Do you think I'm going to run away?"

"Maybe." A knock sounded, making both of them pause. Chise slowly got up and walked towards the door, but his hand stopped her, "Go hide."

She nodded and grabbed her sketchbook, going to the bedroom. Dabi sighed and opened the door, his eye twitched, "What do you want now?"

Compress grinned behind his mask, "We missed you last night."

"I told you I needed to get away from you idiots for a couple of days," he huffed, "I'll be back tomorrow."

"Now Dabi, do you think me a fool?"

His blue eyes narrowed dangerously, "I think you smart enough to leave."

A hearty chuckle left him, "I won't tell. Though I would advise that she continue to lay low."

"I've got it under control. Now leave."

Compress tipped his hat and walked back into the shadows. Dabi watched for a moment before closing and locking the door. He knew the other man wouldn't tell. They had spoken about AFO and what he would do to her. A long breath left him before he turned and strode down the hallway. Chise sat in the middle on the bed, her eyes on her work. He paused, taking her in before he sauntered up to her.

"You don't think he'll-"

"No," he cut her off, "he won't." He reached and pulled her to him, claiming her lips in a deep series of kisses.

The rest of their night was spent between the sheets, keeping the other as close as possible. Memorizing every curve, every scar, keeping every soft sigh and moan in their memory. When the sun rose, Chise was alone once more, curling into the sheets that still smelled of him.

Dabi casually walked back into their current base, his steely blue eyes keeping their hard shell as they scanned the various villains at their disposal. They feared him, he needed to keep it that way. Compress smirked, "Welcome back."

Dabi flipped him off, his eyes landed on the map before him, "What's this?"

Shigaraki licked his dry lips, "This will be our stations during the final assault."

"I have my own plans," Dabi turned to leave.

"You'll do as you're told."

He shot a dangerous look over his shoulder, "I don't take orders from spoiled brats. If you've got a problem, we can settle it."

Compress stepped between them, "Let's not put on a show here. Save it for out there."

The other two gave one another a long glare before going in their opposite directions. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. They were becoming harder to control in recent weeks. He'd hoped that Dabi going to see Chise would bring him down some, but, he seemed as high strung as ever.
