Chapter 15 - Vanished

Darryl was looking around frantically, seeing Zak sleeping beside him.

He suddenly stopped panicking, and tried to calm himself.

He put his hands over his face, trying to stay calm.

Zak felt him beside him, and started to open his eyes slowly.

He rolled over to the side that was facing Darryl.

"Are you okay?" Zak asked

Darryl flinched at him, uncovering his face.

He tried forcing a smile.

"I'm...okay." Darryl lied.

Zak sat up and hugged him.

Darryl melted into the hug, feeling calmer.

"Did you have a nightmare..?" Zak asked

"Yeah, sort of. But your hug makes me feel so much better." Darryl said, digging his face into Zak's neck.

"I promise, I'll never leave your side." Zak said, trying to comfort him.

Darryl froze at this. That was exactly what his dream said.

Were they trying to tell him something? Is all he could think of.

They stayed there hugging for a few minutes until Zak pulled away.

Zak gently smiled at Darryl.

Darryl smiled back.

Until he noticed something.

He didn't fluster at Zak's statement, the hug, or Zak smiling at him.

It was like his feelings completely vanished. But why..?

Darryl was lost in his thoughts until he noticed Zak was trying to get his attention.

"DARRYL !"

"AHH WHAT?"

Zak giggled, encouraging Darryl to giggle with him.

"Hey, we're leaving tomorrow. Wanna go out to the pool just to chill?" Zak asked, grabbing his phone

"Sure !"

They smiled. Darryl turned on the TV, still trying to gather his thoughts and feelings together.

While Zak looked through his texts. Most were from Arran and George. Until he saw Lya's contact.

"Heyyy !"

"You might be sleeping but I was thinking if it would be better to stay just friends?"

Zak looked at the messages and felt way better. He didn't want to rush into anything so he was extremely happy Lya felt the same way.

"That would be amazing ! I didn't want to rush into a relationship LOL"
"Thanks for understanding <3"

Zak put down his phone and decided to take a shower while Darryl watched a movie to pass the time until he could shower after Zak.

While Darryl was watching the movie he kept thinking about the dream.

After that dream had happened, his feelings for Zak completely Vanished.

But he couldn't figure out why. He wanted answers.

Or...

Maybe it was for the better.

He had only met Zak a few days or weeks ago.

Maybe this would improve his mental health.

He knew he wanted his feelings to go away.

Although,

He didn't mean it.
