Chapter 1

Just one more lap...
Kiara Wolff told herself as she started the final lap of the 2023 Bahrain GP.
Her teammate,Max Verstappen,was ahead of her so far and she still drove at P2 while he continued on as the lead of the race.Behind her was the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso.To her suprise,Fernanado had managed to climb his way up into third,his car seeming to have quite the engine.
Kiara had already put in the fastest lap of the race.She felt as though she could have been the one ahead instead of Max,but soon just accepted the fact that they had instructed her to let him through.
Moments passed by as she drove throughout the circuit for the final lap of the race.After some time,she heard her race engineer on the radio
"That's P2,Kiara.Good job"
She passed the chequered flag behind Max and responded "Yeah,well done to Max and the team"
It was a 1-2 for Red Bull.A smooth race,Kiara had to admit.Both drivers had done good.An amazing way to start to the season.
Fernando managed to keep his position and landed a good place at P3 for Aston Martin.His teammate,Lance Stroll,had ended up at P6.
Mercedes weren't in the place they had wanted to be,though.And as for Ferrari,they already recieved one DNF from Charles Leclerc,due to an engine problem.Carlos Sainz happened to finish at P4,at least scoring the team some points.
Kiara stood on the podium,smiling at the way they had started the season.Soon,the Dutch anthem played for Max. And after,the spraying of champagne did not fail to make her grin broadly.She sprayed Max in the face and he did the same before hugging her,saying "And that's how we start a new season"
Kiara laughed and Fernando chugged down some of the champagne while Max sprayed more towards the crowd below the podium stand.Kiara was gladly ready to admit that it was an amazing race.And she loved the adrenaline running through her as she entered yet another season of Formula One.

"Bahrain curse" Lando Norris whispered with small laugh as he passed Kiara and Max while they did
the post-race interviews.
Max frowned at Lando and Kiara replied "Hey,how's P17 going?I heard Ivy had to retire-"
Lando's mischievous smile turned into a scowl."Shut up"The McLaren driver just ran off right after.Mclaren didn't have a good start to the season.Lando finished at P17 and Ivy Erickson had no option but to retire from the race.The season may have started well for Red Bull,but it happened to also be a rocky start for other teams.
Kiara and Max both chuckled and soon finished up with the interview,both quite happy to share their views on the victory.Last year,the Bahrain Grand Prix hadn't gone too well,with Kiara retiring due to an engine problem and the same happening to Max as well.But 2023 sure seemed to turn things around in a superb way.
After a minute,both Ferrari drivers passed by.Kiara had to admit that she felt some sympathy for Charles.He could have even been on the podium if he hadn't gotten that failure with the car.It wasn't something that was unexpected from Ferrari,though.
Max turned to say something to Charles,both soon having a small conversation.Max and Charles had fought for P1 last year at the Bahrain GP.Charles was the one to make it through while Max retired his car.This year's race,it seemed,was quite different from last year's.
Carlos met Kiara's gaze and said "Enjoying P2?Behind-" He gestured with a hand at Max.
Kiara shrugged,replying with "Enjoying only 12 points after bragging about your car?"Yes,he had certainly bragged about the SF23 before the race.
Before Carlos could respond,she turned to Max and Charles "See you guys later" She walked off and Lydia,her manager,said "Nicely done,Ki."She pulled out her tablet and clicked on the screen."So,now...You have a-"
Kiara groaned."Please,tell me those are not as many interviews as I think"
Lydia simply answered "They are.With meetings too.You have about half an hour left until the first one"
Kiara sighed and continued to walk on.She was a fast-walker,which was why Lydia trailed behind in a light jog to keep up.It never failed to earn a few laughs.
Walking through the paddock,she had to stop to take a few pictures and answer quick questions by journalists.
While doing so,she passed her father,Toto Wolff.The team principal of Mercedes.He raised both eyebrows and playfully rolled his eyes while he passed,giving her a pat on the back.
Though Kiara chose to drive for Red Bull,it hadn't really affected her relationship with her father.There had only been one single arguement about it and that happened to be the time she had accepted the Red Bull contract once it was offered to her.Her sister,Alora,was the sibling to accept a contract from Mercedes, being the sibling to rather drive for their father's team instead of extending her contract with Williams.But Alora didn't always get the image she deserved.Even though she was clearly the better driver between her and her teammate,George Russell,people would always claim that she was favored in the team because of Toto.But any real motorsport fan wouldn't agree with that and would actually see that Alora was a championship contender.The now retired Lewis Hamilton had even admitted to seeing the talent and potential.
Kiara,as expected by a handful of people,had chosen Red Bull over Mercedes.She had no intention of being recognized as only the daughter of Toto Wolff.But even at Red Bull,she could still be seen as such.During her rookie season in 2022,that was the title given by many fans.Christain Horner had assured her that it would eventually pass by.And he happened to be correct,fortunately.People had begun to finally see her as a driver who deserved the seat she had gotten.
Members of the Red Bull team congratulated Kiara and Christian gave her a hug before she went into her driver's room.She left Lydia to speak to him while she shut the door and changed from her racing suit.After freshening up,she put on a Red Bull polo shirt and jeans,slipping on a pair of sneakers too.
She pulled out her phone and scrolled through messages and e-mails.Some were about the race,others were just about brands and photoshoots.
After some time,there was a knock on the door."Come in" She said without looking up from the screen of her phone.
"Really?"Alora said,seating herself on the edge of the nearby desk."Get off that phone."
Kiara set the phone aside "Sorry,Mom"
Alora rolled her eyes and picked up one of the tennis balls that were on the desk.She tossed it between both hands and said "Ferrari didn't seem to change"
"Look who's talking" Kiara responded,catching the tennis ball in one hand as Alora threw it at her.
"Just you wait" Alora pointed a finger "We'll improve by the next race."
Kiara shrugged at her sister. "We'll see about that."
They spoke to each other for some time,then Alora got down from her 'seat' and said goodbye.Kiara only waved lazily and started to get ready to leave the room as well before Lydia came in to inform her about where to be next.
