Monday 14th July

Dear Diary,

I don’t have the exact words to describe the last two weeks. It just happened

We started exams the Monday after the visiting day, I was seriously under prepared so I was really scared about the exams but my friends were there for me.
They made sure we studied together; we even included Feyi in our study session although it took a lot to convince Honour to allow her to join us

“She acted like that because of Jessica” I tried to plead her case
“That means Jessica can come back with an apology and she’d run right back to her” Honour refused to trust her and honestly I don’t blame her.
It took a while for me to be friendly towards Feyi again and that doesn’t mean I completely trust her but everyone deserves a second chance

“Just give her the benefit of doubt”
“I’m not as nice as you are” she pouted
I knew just the thing to make her smile “you and Jelo are my best friends in the whole world and Feyi joining our study group is not going to change that, I promise”
There was a slight smirk on her face “fine, but I was not against it because I was jealous or anything”
Of course not, why would you be” i said, happy that she had finally agreed

So we did most of our reading together and it really helped me

Another interesting thing that happened over the course of the past week was that the SS3 students finally finished their WAEC and NECO examinations. They had their senior students weekend that began on Friday with their rag day, then Saturday was their sign-out day where everyone was expected to come and sign on the SS3 students house wears and then it ended yesterday, Sunday with a thanksgiving service/variety night where the SS3 students themselves did a variety of presentations one last time as students of Bright Minds academy

The SS3 students went home today so they could prepare for their Prom, Graduation and Thanksgiving service. I felt a bit emotional when I saw senior Uju and senior Abigail carrying their luggage to their parent’s cars, the water works came when it was time for senior Funmi to go home. She was like the big sister I never had and I was honestly grateful for her

Some SS2 students were assigned as dorm heads, luckily mine was senior Doyin so I knew I had nothing to worry about

Our punishment commenced today.

After the general assembly, the rest of the students were to wait behind for the film show that was going to run from today till Friday, and then there will be a variety night on Saturday and then movie night on Sunday.
The excursions are to begin next week and my set mates and the SS1 students will be the first set of students to go. I can lie to others and pretend like it didn’t hurt me but I can’t lie to myself and knowing that my classmates would be going to a museum and then a water park really stings

Sucks to be me, I guess

Those of us serving punishment were to go back to hostel, change into our sportswear and report to the dining hall to begin our work. I changed into my sportswear and then I waited for Feyi so we could go together

When we got to the dining, most the other people were there already and like me, they did not like this one bit

After about 15 minutes of waiting, the kitchen supervisor finally came to address us
“So you are the students that wrote love letters to each other”
I rolled my eyes, this was actually getting old
“At your age, I was reading my books and devoting all my time to making sure my hard work paid off” he paused, smiled weirdly, pointed to himself and said “and it paid off”
