Luna's perspective

Emily had gone out to attend some important stuff, leaving the others and I to fend for ourselves at lunchtime. With no one taking charge of the cooking duties, Paul decided to volunteer his services. So, he went to the kitchen, gathered all the ingredients he needed, and set about preparing for his grilled beefsteak. Despite his lack of cooking experience, he was determined to make a delicious meal for his friends.

When Jared came to the table to serve Paul's dish, the others were less than impressed. The food looked burnt. Incredibly burnt.

"Once I get rich, I'm buying some cooking lessons for Paul." I say, making sure it was loud enough for him to hear.

Paul turns around to look at me. "Fuck off, I worked hard on making that."

Embry stares intently at what Paul had cooked while the others slouch in their seats. "I think it's going to take a little more than cooking lessons."

"That's literally charcoal." Seth giggled as Paul rolled his eyes, turning back around to wash the steak-knife.

Honestly, I couldn't help but feel bad for the guy, he did try his best... I think.
"I'm gonna try it." I suddenly say, making everyone's eyes turn to me.

"That's suicide." Leah said.

"You never know, it might actually taste good." I smile.

I take a slice of the steak and place it on my plate then took bite, trying to hide my misgivings with a bright smile. Trust me, I'm trying my best to gaslight myself into thinking it actually tastes good.
I made a mistake. The food was not only bland but had a slightly burnt taste as well, causing me to wince.

"Do you need me to call an ambulance?" Leah joked.

Despite my efforts to keep a straight face, I couldn't help but spit the food into a tissue. I quickly covered my mouth and tried to hide my disgust.

"So, how would you rate my dish?" Paul asked, leaning onto the counter.

I couldn't take it anymore. I could still taste the bitterness in my mouth. "You're getting one star and a lawsuit for this shit." I cough out before sprinting into the kitchen and filling up a glass of water to rinse my mouth.
