ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey everyone, I want to start by saying how truly sorry I am that this is late. I have been through a rough couple of weeks and my anxiety was not letting me write. I am back and better and will continue this writing. A little warning this chapter may not be the greatest due to where my head has been lately so it may seem a bit lazy. The next one will be better I promise. Please don't give up on me yet.
OK LET'S GET BACK TO THE STORY
•Lia's POV•
Well, here I am. Sitting on the same jet we were on when we left Hawaii. The same jet we were on when we joined the mile-high club. And the same jet where he kissed Haz, which I still find incredibly funny. We are sitting across from each other and I am trying to think of how to start this conversation, or if he will say something.
"So if it helps I will get anything you left there shipped to our house so you have everything you need. We can also redecorate the house any way you want or maybe even move into a smaller home. We always talked about how the house we have now is too big. Whatever you want we will do." Yeah and now he is rambling. Great.
"Stop and breath," I tell him knowing if I don't then he won't.
"Sorry. I want to try to work this out and not mess it up again," he says after calming down.
"Yeah..."
Silence
Finally, the jet landed and I couldn't get off it fast enough. I wish I let him ramble because the silence for the rest of the flight was just awkward. I swear I regret not taking melatonin so I could've slept and counted sheep instead of sitting there counting how many times he looked over at me wanting to start a conversation.
24. 24 times.
I didn't realize it would be like this. I know he hurt me but we were friends before, sort of, so why can't we be friends again?
"Lia?" I hear Tom ask.
"What?"
"I have been trying to hand you your bag for a while now. It's like your mind is still in flight." He laughs at his joke which makes me want to laugh also. He has a perfect laugh that is so contagious. Snap out of it.
"Oh, thanks. Sorry just a bit tired from the flight." I say quickly grabbing my bag from him feeling embarrassed.
"So are you hungry? We can go to Bel Posto or maybe have Stacy cook." He asks and when I am ready to turn him down my stomach betrays me. "I will take that as a yes."
"Let's go to Bel Posto. I don't want to bug Stacy right now while she's probably wedding planning."
We get into his car that just pulled up in front of us, thank you valet, and head there. On the way there all I can think about was our first time going. It was our first date. He told me he was falling in love with me. He asked me to be his girlfriend. Then we went back to his place and made love.
This will be fine.
We get there and park. When heading inside I see the same hostess from that night in the front.
"Hello, Mr. Holland, Mrs. Holland. Right this way," She guides us toward the secluded back area. Thank god it's not the same table.
"Chateau, please." He says and sends her off.
"Chateau huh? You must love that wine," I say kind of nervous about what might happen tonight.
"Yeah, it is an amazing wine. You'll love it trust me." My heart just stops. He doesn't even remember.
"Yeah, I know that," I say kind of getting pissed off.
"Oh, have you had it before? Of course, never mind that was what I got our first time out. Well, at least we know you like it since how that night went," he winked at me. The hostess brings the wine out and I am no longer wanting this.
"I am suddenly having a hankering for something else. Can I get a glass of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti please?"
"Sorry ma'am we only sell that by the bottle." She tells me looking nervously between Tom and me.
"Then a bottle, please. Thank you"
"Everything ok? I thought you liked Chateau." Tom asks confused
"Yeah I love Chateau but recently I have been looking to change things and found I can love something different. Something that I will hold on to until I choose to finish it and not the other way around." I say hoping he gets the real meaning behind what I said.
